Wow, everything worked perfectly, no issue at all. The worst part was typing the email in the Battle net app, i just copy pasted from a text document, was much easier than having to deal with this part. You earned a sub (I never do that tbh lol) !

How hard was it for Blizzard to allow their older games like Diablo 3, 2 etc. on Steam. Just add them already Blizzard. Cheapskates...

You just earned a new subscriber. Clear directions and explanations as to why you did things. I copied it to the letter and had zero issues. Game runs great on the deck.using his settings advice i haven't noticed any frame drops, consistently at 60fps. If you would have told me 20+ years ago id be able to play D2 on a handheld, 10 year old me would have said thats impossible. The deck continues to blow me away even after all the hours ive put in on it.

I don't have a steam deck but enjoyed this thorough tutorial.

Managed to get it running thanks to this video. Latest proton pack is essential, and manually changing the file location to home/deck/whatever is what made the whole thing click. Thanks a ton!

Thanks for the great tutorial. I was sceptical and mostly just too lazy to try this. Followed step by step and had 0 problems. I did end up using 8.0-5 because 8.0-3 wasn't an option for me. Still had no issues. Goodbye Switch version 😥

Got to where you actually log in. But there isn’t anywhere to select log in. Just the battle net loading icon going around. I am connected to the Internet. Someone help please

I tried one of your walkthrough previously for either this game or D4 and you say not to update, except previously my battlenet refused to update and refused to launch my game because it wasn't updated.

Cam get the game running. Just doesn't seem to.recognise my steamdeck as a controller. Therefore got no way to play the game properly. Any ideas? I don't have the icons for controller support like in thr video.

Modern state of gaming requiring internet connection or 'check ins' is sad. Glad I do game preservation and have copies of my games for offline play.

At 7:58 when i added bnet to steam the window where u browse then doc etc doesnt pop up for me and i cant add it to steam how do i get past that. Took a bit of improvising since the step by step some steps never popped up for me. But i did get it to work because of your video. Liked and subbed!

Used to be in it for 2 days but now suddenly its impossible to get back in as the Wi-Fi wants me to enter a password but the SD cant open the hotel site to enter the pw… just opens an empty white page that keep flickering doesn’t work with chrome Or firefox

How to play D2R Single Player Offline on Steam Deck?

Alex, I've been trying to play D3 on SD (I know, I know) and the controls are terrible. I've been using a community control mapping. The way it works is awkward as it is simulating the left click to move when you move the left joystick so it leads to undesired results. but that's the best I could find. Did you manage to do it properly? Maybe binding force move to the left joystick instead of move and action.

Hey great tutorial, if I want to switch logins on bnet, do you recommend signing out and in again? Or should a second steam profile be created? If a second profile is needed will I need to do this again? Thanks

You’d think there would be a way to run a command and open Diablo 2 directly and not just the launcher, but hey I’ll take it. I’m so lazy I’d even buy Diablo 2 for the 5th time if they release it on steam. (OG pc, remake, ps5, switch)

If you dont want the keyboard to keep closing once its open just use the d pad to navigate the keys instead of the touchscreen! Works perfect!

Hey Alex and community, this is a question regarding Diablo 2 Resurrected on Steam Deck. Where does it save my character files? I have been trying to find them for hours and can’t seem to do it. I have tried searching the deck for the names of the characters but no results come up… Your help would be much appreciated! Thank you!

Help. In Game Mode my Steam Icon just rolls.. dont start the Launcher

I discovered if you write your user name and password in a text file you can copy and paste them in (ofc delete the txt file afterwards), hope this helps.

Correction: Why don't I go back and play the BEST Diablo game? D2.

It kind of works for me, but in a very weird way - both via Lutris and as a direct installation through Steam. As soon as I launch the game through BattleNet, it instantly crashes (won't even start, to be precise). Except it doesn't - if I leave Steam Deck for ~10 minutes, the game actually starts and I can play with very little issues (those can be fixed by changing a control scheme in game mode). It also seems to be an issue exclusive to D2R, becase D3 starts as soon as I launch it.

Installation and playing works flawless, saving offline char etc. Tho i have to adjust brightness every time since it resets to very dark. Anyone know the fix?

So when i first got my oled steam deck, I followed these instructions and it worked perfectly. No issues, got D2R installed and playing. But after a few days of installing a other steam games and emulation games, i went back to battlnet. When i launched battlenet it did not remember my login and it required me to enter my login info again. But the issue is there is no actual "Login" button, it just simply as a little spinning battlenet logo. I type in my username and password but im stuck after that, because there is no option to actually login. how to get i get the "login" button to actually appear again??

Let's be honest, we're all here to install Diablo 2 on the steam deck OLED. I've got it working, and it pops! I highly recommend, just using an external keyboard for initial setup.
