every other tutorial ive watched explains stuff using words they haven't and wont explain, and also do it in one or two videos so its rushed and doesn't tell you everything. These tutorials are giving me proper insight into the game as it breaks down every game mechanic step by step and explains them thoroughly
@@imbored3795Well I have a different opinion on the animation than you, but I didn't mean any harm. The animation doesn't matter much anyways as it's the explanations (I complemented) that count. If I came off as rude before, I apologize.
This video is a life saver for a new DM like me. Literally played D and D for the very first time with my first timer friends a few hours ago and I was the DM. All of us were so incredibly overwhelmed during the combat phase because it was so difficult to keep track of all the rules. I wish I had seen this video before the session. The animation and your explanation helped memorize a lot of the things. I shared this video with my group because they are equally clueless.

Going to host my first session ever on Friday. played once 6 years ago. I have read through the basic rule set, now watching these videos, togheter they are totally awesome and you get a good grip of the game. Your videos are pure gold for anyone want to learn, simple and contains good information!

I can't tell you how helpful this entire series is even for the GM to keep referring to when fatigue or nervousness (I'm still new) makes us uncertain. I share this series with my players to help, because it's sooooooo clear. Great work!
This is ultimately the best series for players. Clear, straightforward actual lessons, with professional, educating but simple animations, and what's best: No youtuber bullshit and stupid jokes.
This helped me out so much. I got D and D for Christmas but it didn't have the players handbook so me and my brother were trying to figure out everything.

This series is super helpful! I'm going to be playing with my siblings in a while, and I'll be the one dming. Are you going to make instructional videos on dming? Like how to determine what monsters have what stats, what to do when somebody does something you didn't plan for, ect?

Hey I'm not sure if you can do this on the mobile app but on desk top you can open up a transcript menu for most vids on RU-vid. Underneath the video, right next to the "Save Playlist" button, click on the "More (three dots)" button and the Transcripts option should show up. Its got time stamps and everything.
Thank god. Trying to go from 2nd edition D&D to 5th edition has been a disaster, but this is helping immensely. Maybe I can actually DM and seem like I know what I'm doing now!

Thank you for these videos! I've read the starter set books, watched multiple videos etc and had no clue how to calculate damage with a weapon for an attack. It makes so much more sense now. Long way to go before being even proficient but at least we can start the starter set!

Being prone doesn't affect your saving throws... it imposes disadvantage on your attack rolls. Attacks against you have advantage when the attacker is within 5 ft., but otherwise they have disadvantage. Burning Hands isn't an attack roll, so it's unaffected by the orcs being prone. It has no effect on your saving throws. You might be confusing it with the restrained condition, which negatively affects your Dexterity saving throws.

Combat seems to be the one thing that my fellow players have trouble grasping at times. This will help them understand it a lot better. I even gotten a better grasp at a few things that I don't take advantage of.

An amazing video, useful, straight and informative. I would only have a doubt about that hiding at 10:45. Unless there is a way out to another place from that spot she can move to, she may have rolled a successful stealth check, but the enemies KNOW she is there, and if they go there and look they will automatically find her, no need to roll dice.

Hi Phil. Shoved creatures or creatures that are forced to move does not provoke opportunity attack. They have to move "willingly", even if the desire comes from the influence of spells or abilities.
The way you explain the game should be an app. As a new D&D player this would be super helpful and help to make the right decisions quicker. Anyone know if this already exists?
