Not really, quite a few activities are simple, yet have a lot of depth and extra steps to learn about, if you decide to approach them seriously. Level 1 hauling missions for example are very simple. Mining in a venture is mindnumbingly simple also. Same with the first couple of stages of abyssal deadspace, and so on
I've lived or fought in every region of eve. It truly is vast. Each one with unique resources and logistical challenges. Great breakdown in a short amount of time.
tried it. first 5 hours felt like I was just watching stuff to happen without ever being able to control anything. never have I tried anything this boring.
You have hands down the best guide on this game. I have watched your entire newbie playlist. You have a ton of knowledge and I appreciate the fact that even after all this time, you still choose to play EVE Online.
I did over 300 runs a T0 Tristan. I love that little ship. I'm currently doing T1 in a Hawk & am planning my jump to T3/T4. I'm leaning toward an Amarr Heavy Assault Cruiser for darks instead of a gila. We'll see how that works out. Your vids are always encouraging. Thanks! How goes the medical training?
I wanted to play as an alpha clone for a few months. My plan was to play alpha for 3-4 months. Two weeks in Covid changed that plan. Been Omega ever since .
this was incredible, so many little things that added up made me feel so lost not knowing, I was doing all the emission in what I now know is the corvette because I didn't know how to even get a new ship
In 2003, I started a character, but it took time to level so I just logged out and never back in. I wonder if it has been accumulating points since then. Are there better things in the red system?
It would help a lot if CCP revamped the career agent missions - the FAQs in Rookie Chat would be greatly reduced if they fixed instructions like "mine Tritanium".
Of course.. if you just flip some words around it becomes "how dummies play eve online" hehe. But seriously this looks like a nice video for helping newer people out, so cheers.
Null sec can be safer than high sec depending on the Alliance who owns it. Most alliances have active defense and intelligence against raiders who hunt in their space. Gates into alliance space can often be guarded very closely to prevent intruders from entering without notice. If they cause trouble, can be hunted down.
So this isn't a game of competition, rather of advancement?? I don't want to start a game where I get killed every 57 seconds... It sure looks amazing, and I've always loved Space Flyer games... It's a lot "heavier" than Diablo 3, and I gave up on that one after 9 months... Hope this one isn't like that... I'm gonna try it out... Thanks for the excellent video... Another newbie joins the ranks... UPDATE: I'm 8 days in, and this game is FUKN AMAZING!!! The attention to detail by the programmers is 2nd to None... AceFace, you''ve been a big help with this video, now my 3rd viewing... Thanx...
If you are thinking about joining now in 2023.. there is a simple but fun little guide as soon as you join.. teaches you the basics and is enough for you to get started... mining is a little gimped but the other paths are grate u can get to semi big ships in the free to play versions. :) currently on day 2 myself. And got 1mill free Skill Points thats equal to 20 days of skill learning. People are sharing links for it in chat so u will also get them :)
Was definitely considering playing this game until I looked into the differences between free players and subscription players. 15 dollars a month simply doesn't appeal to me when I'm not sure to what extent I'll be in the game, and spending time in the game when my time spent yields less progress than others who pay just doesn't sound appealing to me either (not to mention, having certain skills outright locked).
Truly a fantastic game. Nothing compares. Its a pity its infested with the most toxic players I have ever met. Entire corporations and alliances that exist merely to destroy the game experience of everyone else. If you can tolerate being routinely "raped" by these morons then Eve is a great game
Great video and very thorough the only criticism from my end is that you cursor is very small, moving very fast and its hard to see against dark background so when you click on icons or links on the UI to show as stuff its hard to see what you actually clicked on to view it. You dont always explain where you click or what keyboard shortcut is used to open a menu. When you showed us the ship tree in the beginning of the video for example I had to stop and rewind the video to see where your cursor actually went to open it :-) Otherwise great video thank you.
Happy to know if i lose one of my PAWS i can still play this game at least! But this video has been more useful to me than any OTHER Tutorial video ive seen yet. They just wanted to go through stuff quickly it seems. At least here i have a idea of how the things work.
I am thinking about returning to EVE Online after many years away. I found this video by chance and want to say thank you for making this kind of content. It was much enjoyed. I'm still on the fence about coming back but will take a further look in the next day or so.
Wow i have played quite a lot of mmos and this game has got all of the features from it i love Player market ✅ Giant world ✅ Pvp focused✅ Guild/corporation system✅ And of course my most favourite becoming a capitalist ✅
All of this info is really useful, even though I want to know, when you want to do a mission from an enforcer agent, he told me that he wouldn't give out any mission to anyone who hasn't joined the war. The problem is I don't know how to join the war.
@@bummerboomerx I played around 200 hours but got bored, game is really cool but didn't find it entertaining enough for me. might check it out in the future though :D I put all the possible skills to train (around 2 months) xD
I have watched a bunch of your videos, been playing for about 3 months and your videos are really fun and informative, helps the new players out alot like my self. Thank you
At first, I came to this video to learn more about Eve Online because I plan to play it in the future and I am a complete newbie, but the thing that kept me here was the extremely satisfying voice to the point it was making me sleepy. I may or may not add this to one of my ASMR playlists.... who knows.
The biggest pain is getting skills that take forever. Not worth playing. Takes 2 year to max out one of the t2 ships with all the skills for it maxed out.
I recently returned to Eve after 13 years. I started a new account, bought Omega, bought ISK from a 3rd party, got a mining barge, mady myself a very pretty skin for it using the studio designer, and began mining. That was a couple weeks ago. Now I'm in a skiff and I'm doing just fine. I have a Megathron hull in my hanger that serves as a goal for my skills. I can fly the hull, but I can't put guns on it yet. I sit in it occasionally to remind myself of my goal. I mine ice in 0.7.
how do you play this game. none of this video helps me...at all. dude i can't get pasts mission 2 and had to start over 5 times now. all this stuff you going on about doesn.t help just makes it worse.
I played 50 mins in 2018, was a bit too much for me, but trying it out again...still over my head, lol, but will try to stick with it for a bit. Thanks for the rundown, hopefully it will be enough to keep me in it for a while. I really want to like this game but the tutorials and directions are limited...I need a bit more handholding apparently
Oh boy.... plex for 3 mil :O Thats almost antique. I want back times where you has been able to plex account for 1.3bil ISK. :( Great video tutorial i hope it helps new players to fall into New Eden. :)
i wish i had watched this BEFORE i started playing. would have saved me much frustration. and might not have had my last ship blown up :) .... and all those free skill points. wish i had known. i'd be a genius by now. lol.
Lol I wanted to become a pirate and I got recruited in some piracy institution but it was like 30 jumps away and in no sec... I went there anyways and got killed 😂😂😂😂
So I was interested in this game, but from all the videos it is a combat game with little to no world building left to do. Is this true? Can you play this game without any interest, past self defense, in combat?
Is there like PvP level zones ? Like if am new and go to these zones won't it just be massively unfair coming against someone who's played the game since its release?
loved ur video subbed thinking of starting eve pnline i already play swtor mmo and conqurers blade so bit intimidated about starting this 1 too also already made an account but havent played yet but want to use ur promo code what can i do plz advice
Ah that sucks. By the sound of it if you have one side of your ship getting hammered you can't simply turn or rotate and have the other sides armor soak up damage to tough it out longer.
Too steep of a learning curve, even with the tutorial i was unable to mine veldspar to progress further and the small, dwindling population inhabiting this game was... lets just say... none too helpful when i asked how... Reminds me of the original xbox live chat it was so bad, all around, in 2022... EVE online is dead... when you got less than 15k playing an mmo and everyone is toxic... your game is dead.
Best beginner tutorial I have watched so far. I'm keen to start playing eve, so have been watching a fair few videos on getting started, and this has been a real gem. Thankyou :)
How to play Eve Online: 1. install the game and look at all the beautiful planets and stars! (ooooh, pretty!) 2. explore a bit, and eventually find yourself in a lowsec system. Get comfortable with the higher mining yields and suspiciously quiet local chat channel. 3. observe a single ship jump into the system and think nothing of it, initially. (because, you know, you're new and don't know any better) 4. get podded seconds later, staring blankly at the insurance popup, wondering what just happened. 5. rage quit and go play Elite Dangerous
I’m downloading this game right now. I don’t think I will play though. I’m 31 years old and have a wife and three kids. This game seems to immersive for me. I play games like D2R and AOE2.. not this though. Seems like you have to be on it every day and idk if I will ever learn everything this game has to offer..
i played uncharterd waters online, same game concept but that is in earth 1400-1800's here is in space! i was ship builder and artificer(crafter) probably i could join EVE and do same there will think about it thanks for the video
Not played it since 2012, the UI looks totally different to how it was. I'm now retired, so once my post retirement jobs and things to do are done, I'll be building a new PC and will see about maybe reactivating my omega account.
Buddy, dummies are ppl that just started to play... You explain stuff to ppl that are REAL dummies and did not get it after 2 weeks of playing. Imagine yourself - no PUT yourself into - someone who plays the game right from the start.
I've been TRYING to play for 3 days. I'm going back to the old Freelance game. That gives you more info that "collect this". Where do I find it? How do I find it? So far I am not impressed.
Thanks mate, just signed up with your link. Very excited as I've seen this game around for years and kept thinking I'd missed the boat and was too late to the game. Lets gooo!
While some of us were fortunate to figure out ways to plex accounts monthly early on, best is probably to either commit to alpha or rip bandaid off and purchase 12-24 months of game time and just have fun without the monthly stress of monthly sub cost, losses, etc
