Gengar is becoming my favorite solo carry after Greninja. The level 5 gank with Dream Eater feels so much more impactful than Frogadier's level 5 gank. I almost always can get 2+ kills and get ahead easily.

I stopped playing Gengar to learn new pokemon, I really missed him but i did it for the sake of climbing in any role. Yesterday I used it in SoloQ and i think is, by far, one of the best junglers if you manage to scale and score in early mid game. Hypnosis and shadow ball is my go to build with triple glasses

That was a Gengar masterclass. I didn't know you could use Dream Eater on objectives to steal / last hit. I avoid playing Gengar in solo queue because I didn't think he had good last hit. This changed my mind a bit. Amazing penta btw. In that situation I would've dipped. You instead wiped the whole team. GG

Thank you for the video. I just started Gengar and this really helps. At 8:08 you said the combo is: DE-Boosted-SB-Port-Boosted-SB Shouldn't it be: DE-SB-Boosted-Port-Boosted-SB to use the reduced Sp.Def. from the first SB to make more dmg with the Boosted? Also what I like to do at the start of the match I take lick to attack the lillipup, get my boosted because of lick and use the port from the boosted. Don't know if it's faster but I prefer it this way.

Thanks for the guide. Bought him a while ago after you said how strong he was, but i just couldn't get the hang of him when practicing him in standard. I may just start another fresh account to play him up to masters to learn on an easy curve.

You need to master aiming at target manually with gengar. Gengar auto aim is a bit fickle. You either aim correctly and one shot enemy or you miss and got one shot'd by enemy. If gengar is that easy to use, it would have been used more frequently in tournaments

Do the training dummies have any sort of defense calc for the damage taken? Because if it is not like that I don't know how any Pokémon dies instantly to a gengar combo with 8'2k damage output, when the highest HP Pokemon have 10k at lvl 15

Basically anything other than tanker will die in one shot by gengar.

I always wondered why almost no one used Dream Eater to secure objectives, its scaling is almost as good as his ult and that's insane lol, Dream>Ball>Dream on a low objective is such a good secure on anything its insane

@@Tentaku64 Yea, its just like doing the two basic attacks before jumping over the wall (and killing the lillipup at around 9:45 will give you a bit more exp so there's a bit of waiting time anyway)

You should target fragile enemy first like Pikachu and one shot them. Then it's just a matter of chaining combos. Of course you need to learn how to aim properly because once you missed, you're dead.

Playing gengar in Solo queue is a pain. You barely get Jungle and while in lane you just die until you reach level 5 which is tough when you die like 67 time during the first 2 minutes.

Yeah in a scenario where your health is low, enemies is also low and you know a shadow ball will do the trick, send it. Otherwise though, most of your engagements rip the combo out so you guarantee you dream eat resets

Sometimes you need to chain the combos as fast as possible, thus skipped many boosted attack. Sometimes boosted attack is just wasting time and can get you killed.

Is there is there any Utility for Energy Amp? It is even more damage than SpAtk Specs and can guarantee the knock out. One thing I tried was X Attack and Energy Amp, you can kill 2 squishes full to 0 with just Dream Eater + Boosteds.

Don't like it since I often use my Unite move to run around until I find an opening and Amp will start the moment you press your unite to go underground

Shouldn't you always try to start the combo with Shadow Ball, before Dream Eater, in order to get the Special Defense debuff?

You can use Shadow Ball after because Dream Eater's initial hit does 0 damage & puts them to sleep You do want to use Shadow Ball before teleporting if possible to allow for a cooldown reduction on Shadow Ball

Not that it super matters but is starting the jungle rotation with the boosted auto faster than starting with lick and then using the boosted after the lick to jump the wall?

Can you explain why nobody picks sludge hex? I think it's a way better build. You can hex out of bad situations, the slow from sludge is nice and it can hit multiple targets. I understand that dream eater shadow is a great combo I just feel like valuing the utility of hex and sludge is so good.

it can he useful in certain scenarios. i use it on more tanky enemy team comps just because you have way more dps. however aside from that it just gets outclassed by dream eater shadow ball build against more standard team comps. not to mention if you miss sludge bomb you're just a sitting duck for about 6-ish seconds

I really hate this pokemon it requires no skills just 1 one game over. Good tips and tricks mate thoroughly loved it. Is used many games this pokemon I thought it's not fair to use just farm jungle twice or thrice and entire enemy team just one shot so I stopped using this pokemon. I'm small tiny content creator too buddy but ur explaination is too good many things I learned from ur videos. Keep up the good work. Where do u stream I check on yt and trovo but I never saw u streaming on that platforms.
