Wow, thanks so much Lincoln! I try :). My interests usually are all over the place, so being versatile is important to me. Glad you're enjoying it will do and stay safe as well friend.
Thank you so much! I agree that the world is a better place with music, it's a gift that keeps on giving, so glad you found my channel as well, you help keep me going!
Is this solo in the same key as your acoustical video? I love the no capo version but the solo doesn’t sound right when I play it over a loop. Anyway just found your channel, I think you are going to get big. Keep up the great work.
Great question Chris. The solo is not in the same key, it's in Bm which is the key of the recording. Unfortunately it was too difficult to move the solo down to Em (no capo key). If you would like, you can try this entire solo with everything down 7 frets. Kind of a hassle I know, sorry it's not more simple, let me know how it goes. And thanks for the kind words about the channel!
Do you mean how to get into the solo? The last chord of the verse is B7, which leads into the solo. The end of the solo simply fades out over that iconic riff. If that's not your question, would you mind being more specific as to how I can help?
@@bongguitarist1699 Sure. If you would like to start the solo without much difficulty, I would start at 14:15 where I go over the iconic riff that everyone knows and remembers. It's less difficult than the entire solo before it. After you have mastered that, play along with the recording. Then, start at the beginning of the lesson and see if you can get the rest of the solo. Let me know if that helps!
You are definitely the kind of dude I could hang with. You really seem cool but I played during the 70’s which you have to admit had the great classics that have withstood the test of time. I didn’t have the luxury of RU-vid didn’t read but I relied on ear, You know to be monotonous and frustrating at times. But endured and was a very sought after guitarst-fell in love with golf-the rest history. I noticed on you tube there are many teachers but nothing different. This could change your style of teaching. Maintaining your finger position while trying to show or tell what note to hit-this is confusing simply because your talk about position is ignored probably by most who rely on visual, and maintaining your finger position hides the note to be hit by blocking it sometimes. I eventually relied on just ear because trying to find the note was time consuming Because your other fingers are blocking the note because your open fingers still in position, hide the note you’re trying to hit. My suggestion When hitting the note open your hand like your doing a one note vibrato with it index finger hiding your other fingers or opening them which will show clearly the note your trying to hit. Then relax into your hand position. When your bending a note and your pinky is hitting the e string your hand position blocks the area you are talking about, people aren’t listening-visual! So open those hands up show the note, what finger to use or use the index finger to show and then the right finger to play. Good luck, just started playing again and I’ve chosen you to get me up to speed and realize how many notes I missed or used in the song back in the days. Love to help people-it was my job and many men are rich today because of it! Hope this helps you and I’ll be watching and learning. Show those notes! Don’t block them.
Hi Tigerosan, I really appreciate that man, and glad to hear both your kind words and your feedback. I've actually been thinking about this very issue with people being able to see my fingers. Since it's not great technique to lift your other fingers, I have shied away from doing this, but I think you are right that it's important for people to be able to visually see my fingers. So, I will definitely start to lift my other fingers in my lessons so that people can more clearly see my fingers. Thanks again for this thoughtful feedback. Cheers! -MT
