I figured this one out by ear and I could recognize it was a half step down by the open G string in each chord. You did a really great job breaking it down and getting all the subtle nuances like the slides on the A string between chords. Really smart to slow it down to half speed and really listen. Those little things make a big difference in nailing it!
Mann… i just bought a guitar about 3 weeks ago now. I downloaded “Yousician” so i could learn basic chords and get a little bit more familiar with the instrument… but I gotta say, you’re videos teach a lot better and its easy to follow along with how you break things down as you go. I like how you explain things as you go, very helpful. With that being said, thank you!!
First off this song is awesome, This is almost identical to second hand serenades - your call-with the exception of the ending part of it. When I first heard this song I automatically thought I can play most of this already so that was a plus for me
on the slides instead of the pull off, I just slid from the 5th fret to the 4th and continued the slide to the 2nd fret and it sounds really good, hopefully it helps for those who cant do pull offs yet
I play locally in wichita, ks. Watched a buddy of mine on open mic at a dive bar play this. Thought it was a good cover to play for my gigs. Found your page. Love your editing to show people trying to learn see the process. It's very genuine and shows a side of us artists i think people don't know. Having said that! Where did you get that chair??? lol.
Just discovered you on this one, totally dig what you're doing, nobody had that plucking chords part, and I was looking for a way to play this without picking it all the way through...thanks for this!
Love it! You're who I go to for when a new Morgan Wallen song comes out every time! I know it's been only a couple days since you've posted this, but have you seen the official tab on the guitar tabs app? Just curious what you think of it if you have because I've only been playing for a couple years and I don't trust my musical opinion haha. EDIT* I looked at it and I like yours best 😂
Ive only played for a year i wish i could just listen and break a song down like you do that itself is incredible how tf hahahaha Edit: but I'm bout to learn this song on god ill be playing it soon
I've watched a few of your videos and the one thing I appreciate most is you listen to the timber of the string to determine where the artist may have played the note, rather than just the note itself. As an aside, this also leads to finding ultimately the easiest way to play the whole piece, in terms of economy of motion. For this one, my ears hear the open G & B string consistently humming in the background, not that they are ever attacked but due to picking up the tones ringing nearby, which adds a continuity to the piece. For this reason, I would be more inclined to play the answer riff (the sliding 2nd part) on the A & D rather than the D & G which sounds less syncopated than many other lesson videos I've seen on this song. You invested some time on what sounds like a double-picked bass note at the beginning of each chord change in the main Riff. I think there are are 3+ guitars playing in the artist recording, playing largely the same phrasing in different neck positions, which may contribute to the double picked moments. I wonder if the main guitar isn't hanging on the last note of the question riff allowing another player to start the answer while the main guitar is shifting to the new position for the sliding parts. Thank you for consistently producing high quality content, and lesson that teach us not only how to perform a particular piece, but also opens our mind to make the next song easier to learn as well.
Hey Carlos, you just put your Capo on the 1st fret. Tune it to standard like you normally would then take off the capo. You’re now tuned a half step down
3:57-59 BRUH!! You the man, in OZ DOWN UNDER FNQ, we have a saying ‘HIZHOLE’ (His Hole) meaning you’re just too f’n good mate! 👌🏾💯👍🏾🤩 love your tutorials
I really hope you see this because I'm trying to make music professional and I want wondering if you had any advice like good websites or RU-vid vids. Like first off what are you using for your metronome and second how did you start playing songs by ear
Hey man, I’m really new to guitar and I’ve heard of half step down tuning but don’t know how to actually do it. Do you have any tips or anything for tuning the guitar a half step down? Also… would love a ‘98 Braves tutorial!!
Literally just take every string down one half step. D# g# c# f# a# d# (some of the free tuner apps will work to give you the notes if you need help finding the them)
Hello shalet How're you doing? Your comments caught my attention and that is why I am reaching out to you. Your fan love for me warms my heart, Thank you! It's nice meeting you here.
I have never heard an easier song…? Ok, maybe Louie Louie by the Kingsman. Anyone can hear these chord changes , but he is clearly playing it the hard way to get the slides in there. I’m a Drummer.
12:11 that's exactly how It should be played. I've seen the oficial vídeo and the guitarist plays It like you do but with a 12 string guitar.😉😉😉 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bUjPPBxbQrQ.html
