... and I luv dat he isn't showie or arrogant, entertaining and humble. He approached everything like its very² hard for him to do and he keep it simple.
This guy can just hear it and I’m sure might take a few hundred hours of listening to it for the average person he’s banging these out real quick it’s crazy
and what makes him unique is he's actually a left handed person but learned to play drums with right hand lead. so some of his fills start with left hand which feels awkward for most of us.
Probably top ten I guess. Sometimes music is special because of the time in your life when you first heard it. I would have first heard this fill when I was about 14 in 1990 so it's always been memorable.@@princesssolace4337
I deal in pain all life I drain love Slayer are my favorite drummers is Dave Lombardo goddamn legend do that whole album shredz I remember when this came out I was in high School my favorite bands of all time
Another excellent breakdown by professor Mauricio! Love the Slayer clips, they bring nostalgia of trying to figure out the grooves in the 1990s! Thanks for confirming the fill!
I remember when I was trying to learn this and some other Slayer songs on drums. This was way before youtube. I would just sit for 1-3 hours a day just practicing drum fills. Daves’ drumming so precise that you can’t screw up if you’re trying to match the studio recordings. Playing live is different but anywho. This was one of the fills that I was really proud of myself for taking the time to get it right.
Hell yeah dude! That break with Dave coming back in and landing on the crash and back into that groove hits so good!! And you were feeling it too!!! ❤️
Yo soy un gran fanático de Slayer desde los 80's y siempre he dicho... sin Dave lombardo slayer nunca hubiera sonado así de chingon... tenía un estilo muy propio y unico.... grande Dave lombardo
As an ignorant guitarist it was Dave Lombardo who made me see how important good drumming is for a band and how much it adds. This clip here is a perfect example; it's his drums that create that awesome, slow, rhythm.
I saw Dave drumming for Suicidal Tendencies in Barcelona 2018 or so. Crowd was allowed on stage, which was a total blast!!! Slayer died after they kicked him out. This was fire 🔥
