You know, the best explanation for the Oath's not coming online until 3rd Level that I've heard is that the paladin swears the Oath at Level 1, but it isn't until they have proven themself by keeping their word for two levels that the Oath Magic will reward them by flowing through them fully.
Thank you so much for this video, I've foolishly offered to run a session for my family this Christmas and just realised I'm going to have to make characters for all of them that I can teach them in the space of ten minutes since none of them have played before.
I made a Paladin Oath of Vengeance feat Magic initiate so I could get some cantrips and an extra lvl1 spell at lvl1 Then get blessed warrior fighting style for two more cantrips from the cleric list.
Can you share a picture link of the artwork of that female character in plate armor? Looks very good and gives me inspiration for commissioning art for my next character
Couple things to add 1. Think not only of yourself but what best suits your party during choosing fighting style and Oath 2. There are lot more Oath's but again based of your tennants choose the one for you 3. Next to Paladin spells a Paladin can do a lot of Cleric spells.
@@TheRakanow I still rely on my spell casters to keep me alive though because as the tank you take the brunt of the battle. Idk, water finds it’s level man.
Im playing a lawful neutral Paladin as variant human, I rolled pretty well for my stats as in: lowest in intelligence as a 12 but highest and not much difference from the rest of skills in strength as a 17 but because of class and archetype I have a 19 strength (at level one)
