Great lesson. This would be something I’d like to get down without having to think about it. What’s your opinion on developing muscle memory and unlocking the hands. I struggle when I have to think especially if my left hand is doing something different.
Hi Mick, thanks for the kind comment mate. Think I'm gonna do a video soon on this but I find for 95% of playong I have to do my left hand just moves with the chords. Next to no independence necessary for most stuff other than latin and Boogie Woogie. If it's something along those lines it normally is repetitive and therefore it's just a matter of drilling it for a good few hours. Often I'll whack a film on or a series and just watch something on TV whilst keeping my left hand going. After a few sessions I promise it will just stick!! Hope that helps my G X
You have a natural talent to make things simple and acessible to us 'dummies' and thank you for staying with the series - so good. Well done Andertons :-)
Hey jack, don’t know if you carry any kawai products, but a demo on the kawai es920 would be helpful, they aren’t available across the pond yet,but a lot of people are interested in it,I’ve preordered one, like your videos jack, thank you.
Just to echo the thanks of others, you've really given me another perspective from the classical style lessons of my youth and very much look forward to your next instalment! Many thanks.
For those of you who do not delve into the description - here is a link to ALL of Jacks lessons in an Andertons playlist.. ru-vid.com/group/PLql5qabb8z90hrpGLy8_53JksgzR_elYO
Thanks for the kind words Jake. Defo gonna do when on other keys when I'm next in, probably do a couple as I get it's a tricky one and wanna make sure I make it nice and simple for everyone. Thanks again X
@@jackduxbury1632 Thanks Jack!! It's a concept I've been struggling to stick with learning so it'll be fully appreciated! Your vids inspired me to buy an SV2 from Andertons and I'm buzzed to get it and learn some more great tips n tricks from you! Keep up the great work Jack!!!
Excellent as always relative to people actually understanding what the hell the "teacher" is talking about.... Suggestion for upcoming topics: pentatonic scale and blues scale (what, how, when?)
Came across this whilst watching a few synth reviews you've done. Just been unexpectedly educated! This vid is a gem. Taking simple chords and turning them on their head to sound "a lot posher with a lot less...". Much respect, Jack! Subscribed!!
You can indeed. You can also drop 3, drop 4 etc when the chord has more notes in it than a triad. That Mark Levine book and a quick google will explain a bit more about it, such as the use of diminished chords on non-chord tones (that's the tricky Bill Evans bit!!) Thanks for stopping by X
Oh Man, Scot, thanks for the kind words and watching even one second of my ramblings. Means alot to know that some of it maybe be of some use my G. All of the best X
Every one of these lessons has been so helpful for me, a guitar guy who understands chords/music theory but just never had the time logged or instruction on piano to make it sound 'posh' and not just those primitive triad voicings.
