@@valentinzarate700 I thought so, but some of his alt's make me very happy lol, I'll talk about it more in his video but in short I feel underwhelmed by commando in every other game, but I quite like him in Returns
@@whispers8888I feel like commando is only good in risk of rain 2. In the other games it feels like playing im playing on monsoon x5 cuz commando is a dumpster fire
pilot caught me by surprise when i noticed hes basically 2 different characters in 1, you either play his base with the unique airborne playstyle or play his alt for commando but fun, and i legit cant pick 1 like cmon they're both awesome
Can't forget one of the best parts of his alt dash. If you hit a wall while using it you can climb up and down the wall it doesn't last forever but it lasts for a good chuck of time. It's super handy for getting out of some situations or getting to secret areas that might normally be harder to reach.
Really helpful and entertaining! Pilots mobility has made him my defacto brain off relaxing character helps when they control like butter. Im still a commando enjoyer however.
Honestly I find the grounded kit works better with the standard bombs, the I frames and quick dash make you basically uncornerable, especially since you can use the aerial version to run through them instead while still keeping tge invulnerability
at the start of the intro with pilot i was saying to myself, "how cool would it be if we could play him" and boom, here we are, my new favorite survivor for the rest of time
Love your editing style, and the little references at the start of each video. Honestly if you did guides on how to beat the final providence trail for each character, I would definitely watch it.
Pilot might be my favorite survivor, unfortunately i prefer the alt loadout, and aerobatics has a tendency to glitch through walls and get me stuck there, had it happen on the final stage. Also you should get a pair of round sunglasses to complete your transformation into Ozzy Osbourne.
what are the odds I already own a couple pairs XD I used to prefer main, but in the short time between this video and one that's going up in about an hour (render/upload times and whatnot) I'm very much an alt lad now
2 somewhat important notes for the alt dash: You can freely move on the wall you grab on for 5 seconds, after which you will slowly slide downwards, but for pure traversal 5 seconds are more than enough to go over any wall YOU CAN SHOOT WHILE GRABBING A WALL, this seems like a gimmick at first but it's basically invincibility and free damage against the majority of the bosses, and while losing the parachute does hurt when facing Providence, you can still just dodge all his attacks normally and get free hits with target acquired
I really love these guides and would lobe too see this as a series. Quick informative and insightful. 10/10 Putting in my request for miner because ive got no clue how to play her
Damn this video drastically changed my perspective on pilot. Initially I thought he was pretty neat but not too special. Now he's up there with sniper as one of my most played survivors
There's a wavedash tech you can do with aerobatics by jumping, holding straight down, and dashing into the ground right before making contact with it, If you do it properly you can dash across the entire map in seconds, I've found you keep the momentum better by constantly hopping, and you must hold straight down the entire time for it to work properly. I've been playing around with it and my runs have gotten MUCH faster, so much time saved and situations avoided. This could be excellent in speedruns.
first time i played him i realized his base kit MELTS through teleporters like butter the fact that target acquired can multi hit magma worm wipes out half of its health plus damaging enemies bellow and is and incredibly safe option to do mid air also you forgot to mention airstrike gives some insane invincibility
Great guide! If you were to make more for other survivors, would love to see a section where you talk about what items work well for that particular survivor
I generally try to avoid item discussion to avoid bloating the video size, and because it's highly dependant on alts used and playstyle, but I do actually have some item centric videos that may help and I may start working a brief version into future videos, I'll see what I can do for ya :3
I had this one run with tons of crit, afterburner and the wicked ring. After I hit a mountain shrine on loop, a dozen of vagrants spawned, and I proceeded to have the coolest freaking dogfight with them. Parachute - unload like 6 stacks of secondary - another utility, and so on. legit flew for like the whole 90 seconds. Coolest shit in the game so far
if you tilt his dash down and dash just before hitting the ground, you obviously wavedash. but if you do that and dash out of a LEDGE, you're sent flying across the map. pilot has fucking insane mobility.
Yo great video, I've played a decent amount of 2. And am loving this so far. Mind if i ask if you have any tips for loader? Any would be greatly appreciated.
I saw wavedash video first and then decided to check this one out as well. Those first 10 seconds made my evening ) But yeah, Pilot's alts definitely sacrifice a ton of cc, alt 4 feels kinda meh so far because of how multi-functional original one is, but maybe I just didn't find the way to make it work yet Btw, the different achievement unlock rewards compared to ror1 were a very fun surprise for me ) Seeing Huntress available by default made me wonder for a se what's up with 15 logs achievement and when I got Pilot it felt awesome )
Thank you for checking out our other stuff! There's more if you'd like to stay :) For alt 4 I suggest tagging a boss and trying to get it to overlap the crowd whether that be by getting it to follow the crowd or the crowd to follow you over it, you'll get solid damage on all of them and it can really be helpful, though I often miss the lil bounces cuz they're very nice. And I felt the same way, seeing some familiar unlocks then some changed ones were really cool, it's like seeing risk 1 the way it was always envisioned to be and then some.
Emergency Ejection is really hard, feels way harder than other trials. And after getting all the alt abilities I still much prefer base Pilot. Great video! Also Titan Fall 2 Viper line in intro?
Hey man, firstly just wanted to say I love the vid! It's extremely well-made, but if I may give a suggestion, having quiet background music to go with your commentary I think would help a lot. Other than that, great stuff!
FELLOW RISK ONE ACRID MAIN :D Absolutely lol, got him and will start working on that one next, was a toss up between him and Miner to do next so thanks for the help deciding XD
I plan to do each survivor, and then possibly an overarching guide on how to do better in the game as a whole, though commando will include a lot of that info as well. Hopefully by the time I'm done the series acts as a good way for anyone to get into risk of rain returns and excel in whatever character catches their eye
I'm sorry if it's a dumb question or has already been answered but is there any way to unlock aerobatics without doing the providence trials? I want to use the ability but I'm really struggling with the trial
I think it really shines on bosses, follows them and hits all the ads that are close, but I also really love me them mine bounces, especially while overclocking/aerodashing
@@whispers8888 yeah 1200% damage is pretty good I wish it did something special in the air, even if it was just target below you. Whiffing it by a pixel feels bad with the longer CD
