Many thanks sir. A very concise yet comprehensive explanation with good use of graphics to make important points. Nicely done. There's one possibly debatable rule about repelling ships. In the rulebook it states "A player can always stop voluntarily and proceed to the 2nd phase unless he draws a Ship that is of identical color to one that is already in the harbor dispay [sic] and that he cannot repel". (It's the same in the Big Box version except that they've managed to spell "display" correctly). Whereas when I've seen the game explained by many RU-vid demonstrators they make it seem like as soon as two ships of the same color are drawn, your turn ends immediately, but the rule suggests that you still have the opportunity to repel the last drawn ship that caused the "bust".
this was really good, I liked how you added the notes and additional information over the camera, that was really helpful to visualize the game process!
The explanation for Jester does not match the edition of the rules that I have in a newly-purchased (Dec 2022) Big Box. My rules state "If there is no Phase 2: Trade & Hire, all players (including the active player) receive 1 coin...". These rules specifically say the active player is included, which conflicts with the explanation in this video. Otherwise, this is a great quick overview of the game, thanks very much for taking the time to create this video.
