Gaw-lee! He almost sounds like Christopher Cross. Actually, if he had let go and just smoothed out his voice on his own, instead of replicating Christopher Cross, it might have been a STUNNING tutorial. (Needless to say, this is the best way to teach, and this is the best kind of teacher. Systematic, slow and paced, approachably warm.). Cheers from Musicolored Studios in Bent, New Mexico!

(My dad plays yacht rock radio literally 24/7) they play some Toto, Rupert Holmes, a LOT of steely dan, Christopher cross, boz scaggs, America, BUT, it’s soft rock ranging from 1976 to 1984) and they play a lot of individual songs too

Nothing wrong with you! Just takes time/patience. One of my favorite practice techniques is "Slow Practice." It's a pretty simple concept: until you can play your hands together at a very slow speed, you won't be able to play them together any faster... so start slow and gradually increase the tempo after each successful pass. Actually I think it was seruis radio had a station yatch rock and it was mostly 70 early 80s stuff like sailing it was great but they took it off. I think pandora has something very similar. I can't get tired of listening to it. I was talking to my buddy about music past n present and that ppl my Age really don't find anything we like in the longest time coming out once in a blue moon I'll dig a song but these classics from the 50s 60s all the way up to say even maybe 2000 flat those songs in that 50 year span I think will forever be the favorites even in a couple hundred years. I hate to say all the good music has already been made but you'll never replicate the pioneers
