How to play legendary difficulty: 1. Get lv10 2. Get Barbas 3. Let Barbas tank everything Legit it's a 10 min quest for an immortal extra party member that can't even faint and drop agro. The moment something is stuck on Barbas it's staying on him till it dies. Legit Barbas makes legendary difficulty easy, I tried it because of this series and struggled with constantly dieing due to overlevering early. By the time I was lvl 13 I decided to get clavicus viles mask but I decided not to complete the quest after I realized how hilariously broken Barbas is, I got a bandit party and all 4 of them ended up attacking Barbas permanently. Seriously Barbas is ridiculously broken tank!

My experience with legendary difficulty: getting randomly one shot by mud crabs.

I started a new character the other day on legendary because of you XD I’m a Bosmer sneak archer, so Faendal and I are the unstoppable wood elf duo. I have already died many times

Do Dark Brotherhood or The College both give gold and/or expensive gear so you can use or sell the gear if you don't like it. Also you don't have to level up sneak or pickpocket which it is almost mandatory in thieves guild. And if you go DB in the quest Hail Sithis! you can get Windshear if you want. BTW love the vid :)

Missing in action nets you 1000 gold. Take her to the stables and when she gets paralyzed, talk to kumatu to get 500 gold and then kill him. When she gets up use calm on her and talk to her to get another 500 gold.

Sometimes things out of the blue strike me as being extremely funny. So at the very beginning of video StraightUpIrish shows him getting special elemental arrows and I was thinking that I'm not going to follow that part. He then showed us tossing them on the ground. I was like OK cool. Then he made the offhanded comment that later some hoarder is going to pick them up and he was going to be shot by his own discarded elemental arrows. That struck me as being extremely funny. It was something that I could envisioned, but had never thought about before. Anyway great start to video.

I love illusion, I find it best utilized when sneaking with quiet casting and invisibility. You can also make entire groups kill each other without them even noticing you.

Hey, bit of easy advice, you don't necessarily have to continue the House of Horrors quest, so you could do Banning's Misc. Quest to pass time and then go do the beginning part to get the Apprentice Hood and the Apprentice Robes of Restoration. Hopes it helps

There's a quest in the Mages college where you have to cleanse these beams of light, you get it from the dark elf male, and after completing, you get pretty much infinite magicka for a limited time, i used this to level a little

Great content keep it up I enjoy playing on legendary for the first time I play similar build as you do but I absolutely stopped using destruction because bound bow with archery perks is great. Also I played today and I used pugilist gloves from riften ratway (btw that dude suplexed me like twice before i beaten him with fire atronarch because he basically 2 shots you with his fast fists and he should be renamed to bluce ree) to beat uthgerd the unbroken in a whiterun tavern and she is an absolute tank of a person on legendary (like bandit chief level of tank with basic armor she has and orc greatsword) Also marrying early to camilla in riverwood is pretty good since once you build a house she is basically a vendor in a homebase which is great stuff.

Get to Snapleg cave and get the staff of paralysis, using the soul gems on it will increase enchanting without cheating or power leveling (black version of Azura Star helps).

This play through seems like a chill time: no need for the epic gamer exploits

Do the Dark Brotherhood. It should be interesting to try and stay sneaky with a mage. You're gonna have to level up your illusion to get silent casting

The "extra damage" from fire spells is from the burn damage. Other attacks' damage values are not modified.

how bout leveling/trying 3 simultaneous builds/toons, mage rogue war... so that you can compare/contrast how they vary as you do essentially the same content.

There is a little trick i learnt from some Skyrim RU-vidr, dont hold buttons when casting flames spell, but try casting spell in short intervals of time, repeatedly (like hold buttons for half a second, release), that way you will do pretty much same damage, with insanely low magicka usage

You accidentally sold your axe, huh......... Also go for the thieves guild, since some of the jobs for gold are literaly walking in the house and stealing while everyone is watching with no consequences. Nice vids btw

How dare you have fun in a single player game. How dare you try to enjoy a game the way you want to, while not harming anyone else's fun. How dare you share what you enjoy with us. The only way you can make this up to me, a person that has no control over or say in how you live your life, is if you play exactly in this way, with these mods, doing these quests exactly how I tell you to do it. Some might say "if you're that adamant the game is played this way, why are you watching a play through and not just playing the game yourself?" Those people are stupid because it is necessary for me to show how good and clever I am at the game and teach others how to properly play it purely to stroke my own ego.

Leveling enchanting and playing without exploits are not mutually exclusive. I used one-handed and two-handed until my enchanting was good enough. But I get it, in your case you are role playing a mage. So this series is more like how to beat legendary on a pure mage build.

In my experience Illusion is just about the most useful thing you can have on Legendary - Frenzy works on pretty much everything other than Dragons to clear entire rooms, and Calm is arguably better than any healing spell

Dark brotherhood gives you more exp than money, and thieves guild is focused on gaining money. I’d go for dark brotherhood

I wanna see you get azura's star, one of the hardest fights imo

Say so collect soul gems after I sell all 25 of all full and no saves any where near the time I did it

Since you are trying to be a mage, I like your suggestion of instead of getting another sword to get the spell bound sword and use it. While the sword is pretty good and, if you put enough perks in conjuration you can capture souls, with its ability to disappear right when you need it most it is definitely not OP.

I'm glad RU-vid actually suggest your content because I forgot to subscribe after enjoying the first two episodes! Skyrim will forever be timeless.

I recommend the thieves guild so you have access to the thieves guild hood to reduce prices. Also, grab the amulet of zenithar to farther reduce prices, it is just outside of Riften. After you fully join the thieves guild you can travel to Solstheim and grab the black guard thieves guild armor. Even though Solstheim is pretty high level you can avoid all the enemies for the quest and can be done at level one. You may or may not see that as a glitch.

If this is a completionist run, then you'll better not join the Dark Brotherhood yet until you've finished some quests for the DB victims, such The Straw That Broke for Narfi.

If you join the thieves guild for a fence you can go around the potion shops stealing all the potions (and ingredients if you wanna level alchemy) and sell them. the hags cure has alot of potions on display. You can wait a few days out of the shop, I believe it's 10 days, and it will respawn all the items in each shop too. You can easily make tens of thousands this way very quickly if you don't mind the cheese. Enjoying the series so far, keep up the legendary grind!

I find looting the barrels in Riverwood grant ingredients for like 10ish veggie stews. You may have a better spot I'd love to learn.

lovely, im subbing :) I usually go for the thief guild. but really im a massive hoarder so i never have issues with gold.

Step 1: Go to college of winterhold Step 2: Proceed until you get access to the Archmage quarters Step 3: Steal the Frost atronach staff from the arch mage Step 4: Do the "Azura's Star Quest" with the Frost Atronach Staff. Step 5: Enable slow Enchanting leveling with Azura's star Step 6: Enchant stuff with the carry weight enchantment that you found. Thats BIG MONEY on leather boots made from wolf-leather If thats too much work, try picking blue butterfly and mix it with blue mountainflower. At night you can pick the moth's and mix em with nirnroot. Go to windhelm and pick the hanging moss and mix it with more blue mountainflower or nightshade (from the cemetery area) should net you a nice sum in the 2000 - 4000 gold area in 30 minutes with the second method. edit.: Also - do the misc quest for the dark elf trader in windhelm. The one with the stolen ring. Hes a Speechcraft trainer and buys ANY Loot. You can sell him ANYTHING and buy Speech training up to Skill level 50, which unlocks the merchant perk, which makes you able to sell ANY LOOT to any NPC. This enables the College of Winterhold as a major trading post, since it has many traders on relatively little space. PLUS: they all sell soul gems. AND they are all magic trainers: buy training, gold goes to shop inventory, dump loot. Repeat.

I'm seriously not trying to tell you how to play but a suggestion would be to hire Sero from Raven Rock, with your flame summon and his flame summon it will HELP your style of gameplay. You will need about 750 in gold in total. JUST TRYING TO HELP IS ALL. HAHAHAHAHA

Hi, I'm not sure if anyone pointed this out, and I'm sure you know this, either way, if you're doing a magic build I rcommend getting Elswyr Foundue via buying moon sugar(from Kahjit merchants), ale, and Eidar cheese wheels. It gives a 100 fortify to magic. Also, as soon as possible head to riften and start the marraige quest line since the reward(besides the optiion to marry) is the Agent of Mara ability which grants 15% resist magic. And if/when you do dawnguard, join the vampires. One of the side quest which you can start doing after the chalice quest is the ring quest which gives a magic and health ring each that fortify 100 in magic and health. And on Dragonborn, the shrine of Azura gives a blessing of 10% resist magic. As for money there's a shrine of Zenthiar near Broken Fang cave near Whiterun which also has an amulet of it too.

Do dark brotherhood for money!! Just get the 20000 gold and then dip lol!! Then you can upgrade your house and farm all the way. The plotch of land only costs 5000. You will have another 15000+ to upgrade your house with or buy new spells. Also just in general most DB quests give better gold. If you get caught killing just do the jail time as opposed to paying your crime.

You can take away Faendal's dagger so he'll only use his bow. I do that to Aela too.

Illusion is probably the best school of magicka to take on Legendary. Since your damage is the only thing that gets nerfed, enemies still deal 100% damage to all other enemies. This is also why followers and summons deal a lot of damage - they are also unaffected by the difficulty slider. So conjuration is a close second to best school of magicka for legendary, but illusion is more useful early on because familiars and flame atronachs aren't really good for acting as a tank for you because they can be pretty weak. Conjuration can be OK with Necromancy, but you usually have to kill something, then use necromancy spells. With rage, you can just use it at the beginning of a fight for relatively cheap. EDIT: Also, illusion spells don't work on the undead, so you can't use your illusion on vampires - Just wanted to make sure you were aware before you try it next video and realize it doesn't work. Just as well, I find that I prefer the Morthal homestead, because it can have a fish hatchery, which would also help your alchemy because some of the fish can be hard to find enough of to use consistently for alchemy. And, if you want to know how to get it, you complete the quest chain about the burned out house that you can pick up in the tavern - I think you have to have walked in the house to get it though, or it's kind of buggy sometimes.

Love the series (also just found out about the channel, exploring now :P), you probably have some footage recorded already, but I just wanted to say that Muffle boosts Illusion quite fast if you want to level it for perks

I just wanna say this has got to be the most useful legendary playthrough I've ever watched. If u wanna level conjuring then keep casting soul trap on a dead animal its crazy

What I do at start for health potions. Collect all the blue mountain flower you find. They are everywhere in most regions of Skyrim. And collect all the wheat you can from farms outside Whiterun. MerryFair farm outside Riften. Theres 2 or 3 outside Windhelm. Theres one in Rorikstead. And a couple other places. You'll have enough wheat to make around 40 potions . It helps tremendously well and gets me through most situation. And all ingredients respawn after about a month in game so you can grind again later

hey Irish, sorry i've ben gone for a while, i've ben doing other things, as one does in life, but i have ben loving these Videos, and i have a few tips for you, unless you already know them, and if so, oh well. If you need more easy money, go to the Watchtowers outside of Riftan (i know i said this forever ago but its easy money, great for a start) Ti help level up fast, use muffle, my cousin gave me this tip (i'm a warrior build) and that spell levels you up like crazy. go to the potion Black Briar lady in Riftan, she will ask you to get 20 of 3 ingredients, and she will pay a really good amount of gold for each amount of 20 you give her, and when you give her all of the ingredients, she will give you access to a chest in her shop, that will restock in potions every so often. Hope these may help you in your journey :)

You keep mentioning this thing called "drinking" potions. Potions only have 2 uses: cluttering your inventory and occupying storage containers in your house. I think I once found a potion that would set my character and skill levels to max, so, naturally, I just chucked it in a barrel somewhere for safekeeping. You know, just in case it comes in handy later.

I made a comment on your first video about how I'm doing my legendary play through, in the second video I was like oh crap he's mad about people making those comments, and in this video you just said you're playing exactly the way mine is going and I'm super excited because it's been hell, welcome lol EDIT: except I only use bound weapons

I've been told by a friend that the enchanted arrows were based on cut content for Obvilion. Apparently, you were supposed to get these special arrows from the mages college in that game, but Bethesda decided not to bring them into the game because they were too similar to spells in the game. I have no idea if any of this is true, I haven't found anything online confirming or denying it, so, for now, I'm just going to call this a fun-maybe-true-but-probably-not-really-true-fact.

You can level up Alteration by using Transmute than craft a bunch of jewelry and sell it for a lot of money and you get blacksmithing up (so you get more exp not for the skill itself) and then you can get rich from it, i have a character that has a bit more that 30,000 septims so it can really help even if you don't want the skills in the blacksmith tree (and you can enchant the jewelry for both leveling up enchanting and get more money from enchanting it) you should have gotten it from the Halted Stream camp so it should stay within the parameter's of you not cheating and stay a mage build with Alteration (and again some extra exp from blacksmithing)

The AI should be smarter, deadlier, and act quicker with higher difficulty. Making them stronger while making you weaker is kinda lazy. They should hit harder, sure. But an increase in aggro and tactical teamwork would make things more fun.

companions is a great way to get money early on (love those silver hands), but based on your playthrough you might prefer college of winterhold! archmage robes, better spells, crank up that destruction level, etc. thieves guild also helps you get money but i personally play it to get the nightingale armor, and since you're not using that i'm not sure it's going to be super useful this early on. also, next good bow you stumble across-- if you enchant it with something and hand it to faendal, he might be able to help even more! though i'm not sure if you intend on keeping him around or using lydia once you get breezehome. you probably already know all of this but hopefully it helps a little. loving the series! (:

If u have trouble with dragons(and mages), u can use the atronarch stone withe the alterationperk atronarch for 80% magicka absorption. In the lategame u can use miraaks robe + his boots or handguards for 100% magicka absorption, which translates into immune to magical attacks.

Just got caught up with the walkthrough. Always enjoy different walkthroughs of skyrim. Majorslackattack has some great detailed walkthroughs on vanilla legendary skyrim and he very rarely uses any kind of glitches. You may want to check him out for ideas.

You should go for the Dark Brotherhood first. Faendal's an okay follower and all, but having to reload to revive a follower is irritating. Especially when you haven't saved in forever. You won't have that problem once you have access to Cicero.

I do not recognize Talos as my ruler, because I am not a Skrull and this is not the MCU. I would also like to note that I am probably thinking of the wrong Talos, but the one who is in the MCU is the closest thing the Skrulls have to a leader, as well as a semi-decent stand-in for a certain guy with an eyepatch.

Why aren't you giving Faendal armor and weapons??? That will make him so much stronger

For the money i think the thieves one will require too much sneak pickpocket and lockpicking skills so itll be more of an hassle to max out magicka. The compagnions relies a lot of combat so you will level up faster but with more risks. And the assassins one is tricky with the heavy fines for not killing stealthly. Itd say compagnion but itll requiere much more quicksaving

I know the whole enchanting coming into play way later on is a reason why you are increasing your magicka but I truly recommend limiting how many points you put into magicka because otherwise it is a complete waste!!! You definitely could use more health than Magicka so that you can survive longer. Yes you need your magic to cast spells right now but eventually you won't need magic to cast spells and you'll just have wasted a ton of levels into magicka as opposed to health

I’m really glad someone is playing this again because I hate watching something that has 200+ episodes to watch when just waiting for it to come out is so much better. Hope to see other games being played like this like fallout or mass effect/any rpg on the hardest difficulty

You want Gold? Do the Skyrim Civil War and side with the Imperials. They pay out more gold than the Stormcloaks.

if you need sneak lvls, one of the best places i found would be the wolfskull cave and broken oar grotto (two solitude quests). You get some good bow and arrow sniping spots to get sneak attacks from.

Tbh i feel like going with the dark brotherhood won't help you in stealth that much since there are very few missions that are easier to use stealth than it is to use open combat, on the other hand the thieves guild is the opposite because they put extra difficult enemies so you don't use open combat plus you can gain a lot of money, the companions might be good pick if you want to max your werewolf skill that is obviously if you have the ring of hercine since without it it would be a waste of time to become a werewolf also the point about there being a lot of cash to be gained in the companions imo its only half right because there are a lot of enemies there's no way in hell you'll have enough space to store all the loot, and as for the mages guild, it's a pretty good choice if your patient enough to do the mission with the wisps attacking winterhold. Imo, do the thieves guild for the stealth

Since you mentioned illusion main an episode a few bits ago. Buffing your follower with courage and stuff will help alot in combat, xp, and getting your illusion up

never seen this channel before but I like this series. i think its been just enough time not playing skyrim that the love for the game has reignited. might play it myself soon. I like watching you play on legendary but its too much of a slog for me

I’d say do the thieves guild until you get the money you need for a house since vex and what’s his name have easy jobs for you to do. And you don’t have to fight much in those missions. Then I’d get a house and do the whole college quests for the gear and all the spell access

I've never seen this method used, but when you get muffle you can just cast it repetedly to upgrade your ilusion very quickly.

Just fyi....you may already know this info. vampires are undead so you won't be able to use illusion spells on them until illusion is lvl90 and you invest in the perk.

in the halted steam camp you raided in ep2 theres the spell tome transmute ore. so if you abuse that and the iron ore in the cave you can turn it all to gold and into jewelry in whiterun for massive profits. its mana cost is steep but with how fast you can get rich with it, who's complaining?

I had no idea the lunar enchant was broke I literally was just thinking about putting it on my brand new dragon bone blade today so glad that I didn't because I legendary my skills right after I made it and I'd be stuck with a broken enchant
