2:25 that's not a thing with skywrath. You first pick him in the draft and pray to your Religion that enemy doesn't pick antimage or your offlaner doesn't pick an afk farmer. I have over 633 matches with skywrath and have been spamming him on and off in the offlane. I wanted to share some of my thoughts. General stuff i noticed from the video, -as stated above he's good with Mars, cent, LC, Razor. Others include hard lane dominators like viper, Marci, Monkey king, Ursa, Spirit breaker, Omni 3rd spam etc. -bad offlane partners with lazy farming gameplay and zero kill threat early on. Enigma, Nightstalker, Doom who's maxingQ, Underlord if he's not coordinating his Pit+Firestorm combo when enemy is out of position, BristleBack feeding stick charges and forcing carry to buy stick, Tidehunter because 9/10 i know I'll lose my lane From experience, you should be willing to play to your absolute limits with this hero early on, harassing as much as possible without feeding and trying to gank at minute 5 with SOD. Generally i like spending all my resources at minute 2:30 and deciding if i want to top off with lotus or suicide at t2 on my way to steal their bounty rune. Know that you can easily grief your lane the more risky you are as a player, and i personally have made mistakes where the lane is just over at minute 2. So be cautious There are stuff i disagree with on the video, I think you should never max out concussive shot first. It's a horrible scaling ability which adds +60 per point, it's simply not worth it. I like the second point at lvl2 but at lvl 5 i usually decide if i want maxQ or MaxE. Never max W (not to mention you cast it once every skirmish due to it's horrible 12sec max cd which for a skywrath you want to kill in 3-6 seconds, max W also doesn't have any chase potential and makes you go "well not enough damage i guess" On a failed attempt) In line with concussive shot, i don't like opening with Ancient seal. In lvl1 it lasts for 3 seconds and assuming you open with it, you spend 1 second waiting for the concussive shot projectile to land before you can cast flare. It's a lot more reliable to get the homing vision that doesn't reveal your location. Basically once you cast E you already alert your enemies that you're planning on killing them which gives then an extra second to run away further delaying your concussive shot from hitting Also PSA, NEVER RUSH ATOS. By simply existing in the game, enemy midlaners will rush Euls, Supports will rush Glimmer/Forcestaff. Atos gas also gotten even harder to rush due to the crown not being components, not to mention the moment you buy an atos the enemy jugg is going to retreat deep in the jungle for 15 minutes until her gets manta are you're very behind in items So when to buy Atos then? >you don't plan on buying arcane boots >aim for a 16 minute timing >staff of wizardry at minute 7-9 >you have a good feeling about your lane and the game My better alternative would be phylactery, it does Atos' job but better. It gives you the upfront damage, Mana regen, bigger manapool and the slow is actually enough to land you a full flare if you optimize the Flare placement infront of them. Phylactery also opens you up to aggressive blink dagger or going aghs/aether lens Another NOT TO RUSH is AGHS, this is by far the most griefing item in skywrath players. You're not dealing any damage with it with low INT and LVLS, the second flare is usually wasted without an echo slam or Reverse Polarity and the silence which is the redeeming factor... Well guess what they most likely have Manta or Euls. Focus on single target and getting those key pickoffs, THEN you buy this item. If you become super amazing with skywrath you can kill most heroes in the game with three items. Ethereal blade, Scythe of Vyse and Smoke of Deceit. High risk High reward lategame play What to do against antimage? Get W, Get all the mangos you can and spam the everloving god out of him in lane. Make him regret picking AM via your rightclicks, if your offlaner likes hitting creeps then just turn on mic and tell him what he should be doing, or just mindlessly let AM farm. Btw 9/10 dagger rush into hex is my preferred build against AM If: opponent=Juggernaut then Starting items= Sentry, Boots (ship tango) At first glance skywrath is just a basic hero, but you're on a constant kill or be killed mentality with this hero, if you don't get kills you don't scale into the lategame. So force your pos3 and pos5 to do something with you. All it takes is a lion stun to guarantee a kill :))))) Lastly, Sky LC lane is a trading Nightmare (for you). Get as much sustain we you can. Cheap stats and a stick and survive till 6

But you've overlooked that when playing Sky mid for example you have an opportunity to assess the supports and possibly two out of the three core heroes coming out if you're last pick, so Torte's guidance there on not playing into his worst matchups when going core Skywrath is fine advice. Arguably, more important. If you've played 600+ matches as pos 4 Sky then it's easy to understand why you would have overlooked something like that. I didn't understand why they gave Skywrath Arcana a unique modifier for Phylactery, but with how you've explained it I understand why that design decision was made. Nice to learn something new from a dirty Sky spammer :)
Phylactery is new for me but not maxing W will depend on how well you do in lane. Free 300 dmg and you can cast that from fog is super annoying and can force them to commit whatever they have to find you. I would’t rush Aghs either on pos 4 since the point is to kill and not die BUT if you do get an aghs, best pair it with bloodstone bc you basically become an annoying tank that somehow heals to max after using your R just once
@@Amir-jn5mo boots against juggernaut is basically a "you'll never catch me ever" Option The ms allows you to snipe healing ward without retaliation Most supports besides lion chain stun can be outran. And generally against juggernaut you'll run out of mana as that MF uses healing ward to ignore your harass for the past 3 minutes. Rushing arcanes enables you and your offlaner to kick him out of lane Why not stats??? Because jugg operates on a basic idea of "if i get on top of you, you're dead" Phantom assasin, Wraith king, Sven, Riki, Slark, Sniper, Luna and literally every other carry has a slow from afar, a stun from a far, a gapclose, or is ranged enough that they're trading hits with you Even ursa has a reliable slow/gap close Point being Juggernaut among from my experiences is the easiest to kite among the carry hero pool
Small note: he is one of the few heroes that has a 0 cast point. Which makes precanceling blink initiations very easy as you don't have to calculate cast point beforehand

I always spam skywrath. Im so agree when you said 13:18 hex enemy if they got bkb. Hex is useful if enemy have manta or bkb. Use it before enemy use theirs. And another tips for me, concussive shot always able to detect real illusion from pl/ck/naga, except illusion from manta
Also don't forget to turn ON Quickcast on Sky's spells so you can combo the spells immediately BTW IMO after maxing W you should max Q instead of E as it is a quick cd spell that you can spam to get kills, just carry a lot of Clarities
It does, yes. The full damage amount will go through and calculate based on that heroes regular magic resist rather than the 60% magic resist that the Avatar active provides :)
immortal sky spammer here, the fact that no one talks about the fact that aghs lets you double ult the same target dealing 3200 magic dmg in 2 seconds is a crime. Learning to skillshot ult to double ult the same target is where all the heroes potential exists in the late game. Also your slow is your worst scaling skill, 1-1-4 is the best build in 90% of games

Maybe i’ll watch again on different speakers. It could be a problem from my end. It kinda sounded like someone standing too close to mic? Like too much airflow with the sound. Although maybe I’m just being picky. Was an epic video regardless like all your others. I enjoy these in depth hero focuses you do.
Nah, you might be right! I moved my desk to the closet room unfortunately as we have to make room in our apartment. So the setup is different and I thought I adjusted the sound levels to sound good enough. Lemme know if it sounds better on different speakers
Disappointed you didn't mention the natural synergy Skywrath has with stunning offlaners and how playing around and enabling those core heroes can lead to Skywrath naturally snowballing and being able to disregard Atos as an item choice entirely. As a support main, if I'm playing offlane and I see a Sky 4 come out: I'm picking Dragon Knight or Beastmaster every day of the week and setting up free kills with Dragon Tail or Primal Roar into Mystic Flare the second we both hit 6.
I hate him so much that I end up buying blademail on every hero just to screw him up. On the side note - nice video, will definitely check out your twitch also
