This build on this day is very needed. My twin brother is currently in the hospital awaiting surgery to remove a large tumor from his Brain. His favorite video game character is and always has been Miles "Tails" Prower. So this video is a comfort to him and me. You don't know the true happiness you bring with every video...but so much especially this one. Thanks Tulok, and keep up the good work.
2:02 "Amy is... hammer?" Amy is the face. She knows what to say to the bad guys to get them to change their ways, like Gama in SA1 or Shadow in SA2. She's a high-charisma weapon-user, like a hexblade.
@@StriderZessei She even has hammerspace. She is absolutely a pact of the blade hexblade warlock, which means she can be the CHA of the party. Incredible.
can we just talk about how Tulok's background footage filled in ALL the blue-spheres in a square, when he could have just traced the perimeter and got all of them in one go and got rings? also love the build :P
This is beautiful. Tails has been my favorite character since he was created, and this is the most amazing dnd build I've ever seen for him. I love everything about this.
I know the chance of you seeing this or why it's so important today but I want you to know how amazing this is to see today. I'm having brain surgery Thursday. I was in a pretty deep hole yesterday so... this came at just the right time to bolster my spirits. Thank you for everything you do, but this specifically. My god
*Miles "Tails" Prower* A [custom lineage] artificer (read: master gadgeteer and mechanic, which is impressive considering he is 8 years old) (with levels in monk) and little-brother figure to Sonic the Hedgehog. Over time, he learns to become more independent, but his bond with his friends remains as strong as ever, maybe even stronger! (Screw how the more recent games have been treating him.)
Fun fact: The way of the drunken master is ever so slightly in character for Tails. In one Japan exclusive manga I forgot the name of, Tails got drunk at a casino. He then blew all his money on gambling. This is why you don't let 8 year old foxes into casinos, even if you are looking for Amy like Sonic and Tails were in that chapter of the manga.
I would love to see a build for Silver. I know that the game he premiered in was BAD but if the IDW comics have proved anything, Silver is a character with a lot of character development potential. Also I want to see a component telekinetic build
Knowing Tails he'd definitely get air vehicle proficiency especially since it's confirmed in the canon he's an expert pilot and that he built the original version of his plane the Tornado at age 8, and then later on built an upgraded Chaos Emerald/Faux Chaos Emerald powered version known as the Tornado Mk. 2 at age 10.
From what I recall, the Tornado 1 was sonic's plane, which crashed and tailed fixed it good as new with nothing but elbow grease (which is how they met). Then the Tornado 2 was his custom built model from the ground up I could be wrong in remembering, but this is what I recall
He'd also have ground and submarine vehicle proficiency... The GameGear Tails games had the sub, and the Tornado Mk 2 turns into a ground based murder mech as of Sonic Adventure 2.
"I've read enough fan stories to know Tails is fine with going home with Silver" "Oops, I didn't know there was a CHARACTER named Silver. That makes the longstrider explanation kinda awkward, totally accidental" YOU KNOW WHAT YOU DID.
...oh wow, the Warding Bond + Steel Defender thing is a GAMECHANGER. I'll have to give that a try with the battle-biker Artificer I've been playing. Keep up the good work!
Ya know, sometimes when I watch these builds, I wonder how far you could get using them in an ordinary D&D game before the DM or the rest of the players catch on to just what you're making. In this case, I suspect it's right up 'till the monk-levels. :P
Artificer.... it's just awesome, making a great character like Tails have his time in the sun....ALL THE TIME, besides being a front line tank this Tails can be with any DnD party
Love the build. I think the only thing I'd change is, since Mobile is kind of redundant with Drunken Technique, I'd pick Fairy as a race instead of Custom Lineage. Pros: Fly speed at level 1; tails can fly by nature, so it's something he should get as soon as possible. Tails is a multiple-tailed fox, which is based on the Kitsune from Japanese mythology, which is basically a fairy. Fairies are small creatures so that still works out You can flavor his "wings" as his two tails. the faerie fire spell can be like the tornado mech's lock on feature from SA2 You also get enlarge/reduce for free. Cons: druidcraft isn't really in character.
@@tyroach8828 fairies in 5e aren't tiny. He may not have been born flying but it's a thing his body naturally does. It's not like a super power or magic.
Before we start, I'm guessing Artillery Artificer (Battle Smith if including Tornado plane or Mecha) & possibly some Monk levels for the speed? Wizard if wish to get fly faster.
This character made me like Sonic. Didn't give a crap about him until there was a fox on his side :D I like that we effectively got SA2 Tails first in the Tornado Walker, because there's also a whole generation of fans whose first game was that one, and it was his last playable appearance until Mania to be any good (fight me.)
Awesome build, though I do want to mention that Arcane Jolt works when either the Battle Smith, OR their steel defender hits with an attack. So you can also heal, or add extra force damage to attacks with it.
I don't think Tails and Sonic should date, but that's specifically because tails is canonically 8 years old. Granted, it's kind of an Ash Ketchum thing where he's been 8 for the past 30 years but still.
The buttcopter as come to give us the joy, a trinity of heroes come to a closure at miles per hour non-stop (unless we get severe chances of electric storms) Miles "Tails" Prower is a young marvel with skills to spare and keep up with the most iconic hero of his world, and at such young age nonetheless! There is no shortage of youngsters looking to show their worth in a chaotic world as Mobius, just like Tangle the lemur as being the sole protector of her hometown, showing her bravery for her friends (Sr Tulok, please, a build to reflect the young bravado would be quite neat) but this fox kid surely deserve every recognition he can take, is quite likely Sonic's tale would come to a crashing end if not for this mechanical boy wonder.
I feel like you could actually twist some stuff into their background or as a whole campaign with the Sonic games stuff, with a bit of made up things to fit better into a D&D world. Miles Prower being an experiment from Dr. Ivo, an evil scientist who experiments on animals, and as a result presented an intelligent fox with a mutation of two tails. After escaping their clutches from the lab, Miles discovers the power of the lab being powered by chaotic artifacts. After a freak escape accident, the lab is destroyed and the artifacts are scattered across the land. Now it's a race to gather the artifacts and either seal their powers or use them to stop Dr. Ivo from furthering his devious plans.
Another thing I realized after watching this video a bunch. At 11:00 when he mentioned taking the Dash action to double their movement speed from 160 to 320, I don't think Dash works that way. Dash adds your base movement speed to any movement you've got already from what I understand. Gain extra movement for the current turn The increase equals your speed, after applying any modifiers. PHB, pg. 192. So by this ruling, if your base movement speed is 80 after applying all modifiers, clicking the boots of speed will add 80 again, giving you 160, but taking the Dash action will still add only another 80, giving you 240 movement speed and not 320. Unless you DM it by ear and say Dash just equals double speed, then sure it'll calculate like this, but I've always seen it as I've explained. Unless I'm also totally wrong, in which case, I'd better have changed how I do things, lol.
I can see an argument for giving the boots of flying to the steel defender. Ya have to refuel the plane once in a while so you can't just fly all the time.
Almost all animals are sentient Tulok. Thats why needlessly harming them is morally wrong. That’s how you know that doctor Robotnic is the bad guy, along with anyone else who still does that. Obviously.
Tulok, in light of the upcoming spelljammer book taking place in space and the game remake announced, could you possibly do a build on Isaac Clarke build from the dead space franchise?
Pre vid prediction: tabaxi battlesmith, using steel defender as a hoverboard, casting fly for his tails. Possible multiclass into transmutation wizard to gain the transmuters stone.
Who else wants him to make a build based on the third greatest calligrapher of Asian animation: Myne from _Ascendant of a Bookworm?_ Number two is Sai from _Naruto._ Number one is Ouki from _Fantasia Sango: Realm of Legends._ If we want one from Western Animation, there is Bradford Buzzard the Hexblade Rune Knight.
Gotta say as sonic fan. I find hilarious when Tulok jabs at Sonic Shippers, yeah the fandom is eclectic. Some of us don't go sexual with a kids mascot franchise
This....wait.....Amy Rose? If Tulok did Amy Rose, this build officially completes the "Classic Sonic" Team build. The _Team D&D Ultimate Showdown_ bracket is allll-most full.....
they rlly gotta add a fox race sometime. tho then again I don't trust wotc to not do something weird with it and make a kitsune race like a japanese stereotype or somethin the duality of foxes
