I don’t agree that Betty beats Enel as long as you play really lame lol. If you starve them all game and don’t start swinging at them until turn 4-6, and pop all their cards with gedatsu and Yamato, you can usually kill them with their low hand size in 2 or even 1 turn after establishing all your big bodies. I’ve never lost a game vs Betty with the sky island build as long as I play like this, and I don’t even run thunder bolt.
I agree to an extent. That's why I said that if you survive the initial onslaught, they lose. It's only tough for Enels in the beginning, depending on what you have in hand. You have to make it to being able to play Yamato, but if you get to that point, then it's no longer an issue.
With the Katakuri matchup, it's definitely tough. I should have included it in the video, but Katakuri pretty much has every advantage against you, except that you can live an extra hit. With that matchup, you want to put a little extra priority on getting the 4-5 cost bodies out in droves and being aggressive early. You don't want them to feel safe dropping the 10c Big Mom and the only way to do that is to keep them on the defensive. Make sure you're also attacking their characters and not letting them build up a board. Their ideal situation is to plop down a 10c Big Mom, pass, and then play a second one on the next turn, forcing you to use Enel's ability and then swinging at you with the first one, but they can only do that if they're in a good position to survive that next turn. Don't give them that. However, that's about all you can do. Katakuri is the more aggressive version of your deck and benefits from being a Big Mom pirate. If you rely on your late game stuff, it'll be too late. I'd say you have about a 30% chance of winning vs them.
Sorry for the late reply - didn't see this one during the holiday break, but I just answered that question, so I'll copy paste my response: With the Katakuri matchup, it's definitely tough. I don't think it's a good idea. Half the benefit of Big Mom is her massive attack stat. If you draw Soul Pocus instead of triggering it, that's 5 don for just the extra life. It could be possible in set 6, with Hiyori allowing you to be 100% sure you put it in your life, but I would advise against it for set 5
Because trash 1 card from your hand is not a cost to activate the effect. It's the second part of the effect, so it'll still go off, even if you don't have a card to trash.
Yamato is my favorite character and I know this seems like a little thing but you're the only OPTCG youtuber who I've heard so far gender him correctly. As a trans person myself it makes me overjoyed to hear people referring to him correctly so seriously, thank you so much. Love your strat videos so far. I'm playing Saka and Yama with Enel core this set and both videos have been SUPER helpful. Subbed and liked. Keep up the great work!
I'm happy to spread a bit of that joy around c: It's odd seeing how much the community debates his gender when it's like...it's pretty clear in the story 😅 Keep on doing you and get those wins! Good luck c:
@@d4c925 I mean some of that cards do, but that might make things a bit confusing. Given that he's continually referred to as Kaido's son, uses "ore", prefers to use the male onsen, etc. it's pretty clear that he's a trans dude. A lot of people just see tits and go she/her, but if you take like 3 seconds to look at how the story portrays them, it's obvious
@@WafflesTheAsianYenbear If you go to the end of chapter 998 you can see one of the only 4th wall breaking descriptions of yamato calls her daughter of kaido . I would assume people call her son is due to them respecting her respect for oden and to be like him .
