Shoutout to Gareth who's working on this one along with several other disco tunes for his band. Here's a look at the disco-style groove played by legendary drummer James Gadson.
It's a classic disco groove to have up your sleeve, even if you're not playing this song as such.

Thank you, of all the various RU-vidrs I watch, your lesson for this song has been the most helpful. I used the 16th feel (instead of 1, E &) last night at rehearsal and it sounded relaxed easier for me to play and my hi-hat openings were smoother. Thanks for watching. I really enjoy playing this stuff, the fun for me is in getting the beat to "sit" and feel just right. it's all about the groove - not about busyness, speed etc. Cheers

Disco songs are fun and upbeat and people are having the time of their lives on the dance floor. If you're not into it that's cool, but for fans of the genre, there is no boredom whatsoever.
