Hi ! Eeco. Je suis français ! à 120 %.... I saw Memphis slim on stage in 1981. I took 1 year of piano lessons in 1979..... i discovered James Booker ( la claque ! ) i 've been listening to boogie, jazz or rockabilly since then. I learned by myself. Two long, not so easy..... I FOUND YOU ! YOU ARE MY SAVIOR ! I still haven't got a piano but i 'm watching your videos like a catholic would stare at the pope ! GOD BLESS YOU, BROTHER. MERCI DU FOND DU COEUR; Xavier C.
Thanks for this great Tutorial in a great Blues song, despite I struggle sometimes to get the proper notes with your Hand, especially when middle - or Ring finger seem to be involved.
I think you create the melodic phrases on the spot, and this is amazing! Αfter all its about improvisation and you can always do something different...
Wonderful to see you do a tutorial. You explain things in great detail and it is gratefully appreciated. Hope to see you do more of this. Totally outstanding !!!
Dear Jerry. Thank you for your kind words. I appreciate your feedback and it helps me to continue sharing my thoughts with the world. Next video will be different phrases , licks you can use (improvise) on the "how long blues"
Really enjoyed the "how long" tutorials, many thanks. Could you expand further on your improvisation? Some turn around, etc would be really useful. How about a guide to the piano parts when you're singing? Thanks
very nice work. just a little remark : in the first bar (at 3:34) you play F / Fminor / A7. i think Bb7 instead of Fminor sounds much more interesting.
I'll put this on my phone and learn it, may I make a request you do a lesson on turnarounds like you do at 16min:15secs into the video that's one thing missing from my boogie that lick, You and Albert Ammons use it a lot. Loved the lesson.
Thank you for this very good video. I too would like to be able to play the song and for that the sheet music would be very helpful. Can I get them somewhere?
Thank you very much, is very useful.Do you know how to play the theme " T'Aint Nobody's Business If I Do", Otis Spann's version?? I' can't find it and a tutorial would be so great!
Hi Eeco! Thanks for the video, great playing. I was wondering if it was possible for you to post some piano sheet music of some of your videos, in particular this one. I think it would be the easiest way to learn your interpretation of this nice song. Thanks!
Eeco Rijken Rapp My piano teacher uses final 2014 ( www.finalemusic.com/free-trial/ ) it seems to be available for mac for a free trial if you want to give it a try, but I personally have not tried it... please let me know if it works!!!
At the 5:07 mark when you start the song you don't play the C in the left hand for the first F chord. You play F then A then C and back to A but instead of playing C again you go right to F. Is that how you do it or not because at the beginning when you first play the song at the 21 second mark you play F,A,C,A,C
hi ecco still working on this great video have you thought any more about writing a tutorial book , I 'm sure many players like myself that have read music all of their lives would love it thanks again derek
You are not presenting a clear, carefully thought out , measure by measure tutorial. It feels like you didn’t work out each measure in your head before beginning. It’s like you are improvising as you go along.
I really appreciate that you are trying to teach this song. But, your teaching here is very poor and very frustrating. I hope you have improved your teaching ability.
