How do you play this riff so clean? If i play it, it sounds sloppy even though i have been practicing this riff for the past 3 months. Has it got to do with my amp? Of some other technique?
Really focus on practicing lifting your hand between the palm muted Es. Makes the riff much tighter, but also brighter. I’ve been practicing this riff for over six months, it’s a wrist killer but I’ve built a ton of stamina with this riff!

Why do you take your index finger off the the 2nd fret just to put your middle finger on the third? You could just keep the index where it is and hammer on pull off with your middle finger.
This guy literally makes videos that guitar RU-vidrs we’re making a decade ago. Sure I love Metallica as much as the next guy. But this guys content is beyond generic.

@@juggernaut3603 I stand corrected, I did some homework, I always played it straight down picking, assuming James did the same thing, , hammering on from 2 to 3 on the A string and following with the downstroke for the hammer-on and pull-off, but I watched it live and slowed down to 50%< and you're correct.
