Took me about 50 min to practice while listening , if your reading this or using other material it will take atleast a whole or 1/2 a day to grasp. Just watch this lesson slowly and u can save 85% of ur time. I appreciate the clarity Gary
Just subscribed. Understanding these Triads is a game changer. Should’ve learned this years ago. This lesson is awesome, by far the best Triads lesson I’ve come across! Thank you so much Gary!

been looking around for a complete triad lesson and finally i got it here. Thank you for taking your time explaining this. For me this is the best triad tutorial.
@@garyleemusic sorry, I should’ve kept my mouth shut. Your presentation and knowledge are superb. I’m self taught stumbling through, 73 years old guy, who is continuously trying to improve my playing and understanding. Your video helped a lot. Thanks. Peter.
@@firstlast1357 oh it’s all good... no harm done. I’m not above saying the wrong thing haha. I greatly appreciate you watching the video. Any topic I help out with? I’m planning on doing some more videos soon.
@@garyleemusic hello, i think maybe taking a simple song like Beatles let it be , and first playing it finger stile with open chords. Then spicing it up with some triads … Also , forming triad loops. I.e. starting with a D maj triad, and move it up all the way to E triad, 12 fret, then go back to F triad, then .. g,a,b,c, and back to where it started at D. Plus some others,.. Thanks. Peter.
@@OtwanySebestiano thanks so much ❤️ I have a free guitar community if your interested www.skool.com/garyleemusic-2716 and you can get the slides from the video there also. Thanks for watching.
@@garyleemusic I have one question. I'm doing the c major scale at the beginning of the lesson. It stars with C major then goes to D min and E minor then F major etc. Why is the D and E a minor then back to F major. I know the C major scale as C D E F G. Sorry, I just want to make sure I understand correctly as I learn. Thanks.
Gary! Thank you! You don't realize (of course you do!) how much and how powerful this is! Funny, I actually stumbled upon these triads as I noodled about. My god! I loving playing the guitar! I am still a novice but, passion carries you a long way. Take care sir and thanks again.
Hi Gary I have been playing n always in my head wanted to play chords like these. The snake the sound so flowing thank you Gary for opening my sounds 🙏

Howdy. Left-handed player here and another Gary. I'm a drummer and trying to learn to play guitar. I have a lot of the basic chords down but trying to learn the rest of the fretboard now.
New sub. We need to get your sub count up. Awesome content man. Been watching tube videos for a few years now and this was a no bs cut the mustard straight to the task at hand. Never been one to toot another man's horn, but you deserve it man. Kudos to you
You deserve more subscribers brother, God bless you! please can you make a video with few progressions that teach us and understand better how to use the triads in a proper way when we’re playing thanks 🙏
Er ---diagrams are clear --thankyou ---but surely its 2 nd fret Bmajor ---not G major 3 rd fret ?--cant see the nut ---but I get the idea ---thankyou for the wonderful diagrams ---
Love this, but I think it might have been better to split them into deferent video’s. Just a little bit to long to try and take it all in. (Well for me anyway)
OK now that I sort of have them memoized, well how does one use the triads? How can I harmonize them all in minor and major keys, and use them in songs and instrumental jams?
I hope to do a video on this soon. I would recommend taking a very simple melody (kids song, or hymn perhaps) and playing using only triads. Or taking your favorite songs and playing the chord progression using the triad shapes instead of full barre chords.
THE CHART DID NOT COINCIDE WITH THE FINGERING BUT WE GET THE POINT. HARD TO DETERMINE THE FIRST FRET FROM THE SECOND OR THIRD... THIS DIDNT TAKE AWAY FROM THE LESSON BUT THE CHART DID NOT MATCH YOUR VIDEO.... FYI IF THAT THE CASE THE MAJ AND THE AUG CHART WOULD BE THE SAME, THE ONLY DIFFERENCE WOULD BE THE #5.
Thanks for watching… Dim triads are options used as a substitute for a Dominant 7 chord. For example when you see a G7 chord you can play Bdim triad. Augmented triads don’t appear naturally in a major scale but they can also be used to embellish a dominant 7 chord. For example experiment using a G augmented or B augmented triad when you see a G7 chord
