Indeed. It's melodically transcendent in comparison to the majority of melodic death metal bands. The unparalleled creativeness should be associated with Michael's ,heavily reliant on melody, guitar playing.

@@deftartisan6769 You do realize that Michael writes 100% of the guitar for Arch Enemy? This Nick guy didn't write a lick. In current time, Jeff is now finally doing some writing, for the current album they are/have been working on.

@@9hk38f Yes he did. The comment said "solos" which is true. Michael writes all the riffs and his solos, and Nick wrote all the solos that he played on the album. Michael doesn't write solos for the other lead player.

@@rustinpeace-tt8gx No, Michael writes pretty much 100% of everything. He even writes some of the lyrics. He is a self admitted control freak. Which is why he uses passive pickups, instead of active. There are rumors that he finally let Jeff write some stuff on the current album. But Nick did not write a single note, of any Arch Enemy song.

To edit my previous reply, yes, it's only one of two guitarists so it`s a play through of one portion of the song. The rest is where digging through tabs and such comes in. Either way, it's so far helped me a ton. Enough of a lesson for me. Honestly, 99% of why I watched this vid was for the whammy bar bits. Intimidated at first, then had other sources to help understand how that works.

You get to watch what the guy plays, I literally learned the whole song from this video.

You can slowdown the RU-vid video or stop it everytime you need it. Seeing one guy just putting the fingers in the right place is better and faster than tabs or ear guessing. Just try the speed up or slow down option.

take it from a guitarist who learnt this song by ear bro, i was very close but watching him play i see ive been playing some notes in the wrong positions, so yes if you are experienced enough a video like this is better than any proper lesson you'll find anywhere else :)

Enzo Cordle Its like a Mustaine VMNT but with a tremolo, just try to search "Dean VMNT Tremolo" and you'll find what you need.

+chazzy licks its quite interesting, both Nick and Michael used stock Dean pickups rather than a big name brand. he was a marshall user, not sure what strings tho

Not true actually, because Nick has passive pickups on that Dean guitar. He is doing 3 string sweeps but while starting on the highest string he is duing hammer on and pull off instead of picking every note. Search for legato lesson on youtube to strenghten your fingers and add a little more distortion to your tone, it might help with that.

Loomis is a better guitar player, though I like Cordle's writing a lot more.
