I'll see what I can do. But to join it really just depends on the game. You would give your friends your ip which you obtain from searching "my ip" into Google. Also if it asks for port then you need see what port that specific game uses.
i watched few videos on this topic, if it is unturned server, default ports are 27015+2 it uses the one you add in commands.bat and 2 after that. But you can also use 27020+2 and so on. When you are on the joining side, i watched many vids, but in one you just do this and it should work, in other one if your firewall blocks it you need to create exception to those ports the creator typed in to commands.bat, Unturned uses UDP protocol so when you get in firewall creating the exception select that, then it should work, if not, there should be like menu where you can see what that exception can do, default is everything on "any" edit the local address and remote address and set both to UDP, add those ports to the address and now it should work, if it doesnt, you fricked up somewhere. I did everything in every video. Now, what does my friend do? I suppose they connect and write my ip (public IP adress) in the IP tab, then 27015 in port and no password and hit connect. Right? What am I doing wrong?
This is exactly what i needed. An up to date version of port forwarding. Everything that i keep seeing is from like 3-6 years ago and doesnt say anything about start and ending ports 😩 i guess thats new. This applies for any type of game right? Just different numbers depending on the game? Im trying to do it for 7 days to die lol
Start and end ports set a port range for the specific game you're hosting. Many routers require that you put it in like this: XXXXX-XXXXX (from start to end). Im pretty sure the 7 days to die ports are 26900 (start) - 26903 (end) but I may be wrong.
Double check you have the right ports, (ending/starting and tcp) this depends on the game your'e playing. Make sure your default gateway is right too. As soon as your port is open it will make any server LAN go public which use the ports for that specified game.
So my wifi is Spectrum, and I have the options for Inbound Port, Private IP Address, and Private Port. I hit enter and it says "The number in port entry box should be between 1 - 65535." I don't know what it means, or how to fix/do it
what do i do if i dont have an external and internal options it just says source ports and destinatino ports also i dont have a option for TCP/UCP its just TCP or UCP
You can try just one port for the start and end if possible but usually you would open with a range of ports. Try to do external research based on the game you are hosting and your router model
Hey man I got a question about port forwarding. I don't have table for both ending ports, but i have "internal server" and "mappingname" options. What should I put in them to make it work. And should I turn on UPnP opiton.
when I try to join my server it doesnt work and it says failed to find a server. I portforwarded and made a server with your tutorial. It only works when I use localhost as ip to connect to server. my public ip I found in google doesnt work. do I have to start unturned decicated server too?

I have the options for Internal and External ports only when I try to port forward, is there anything else I need to do different? I've tried opening different ports for 27015 and 27017 on their own, but it doesn't allow anyone to join the server (lost connection to host or steam network), There is no option for Starting ports or ending ports, just those two.
You need to add 27016, thats in the middle Becouse when you have starting port 27015 and ending port 27017 it assumes something is in the middle, but whe you add them separately it thinks its separate ports, and doesnt open the middle one.
so i’m running into an issue when my friends and I try to join and I get a message that says “lost connection to host or steam network” is there a fix for this?

@@DarknightSinada As far as I'm aware, there isn't really an external way to open a port besides some 3rd party application like Hamachi. The only method I know is portforwarding through your router... :/
Yes, this is true lmao. I really pulled an oopsie on that one. Default Gateway can usually be the same for a lot of people anyway so it's not as dangerous as giving your network IP or something. But thanks for the heads up lol.
Hey got a question, When I attempted to join my own server BEFORE I did portfowarding, it worked perfectly. However, after I completed the portforwarding steps, it fails to connect after multiple attempts and says "failed to find server". The server is up, I ran the server from files. My question being, is the IP I insert for the portfowarding my own personal computer IP, OR the IP listed in command prompt when using 'ipconfig'? I used the IPv4 from ipconfig, but I fail to join my own server after this. Let me know if I am missing something or if it possibly has to do something with my port number. ***NOTE: I input 'localhost' for IP and '27015' for port in unturned.
Yeah so I've been getting a similar issue. Everytime your port is open and you want to join the server, I suggest putting in the actual server ip which you can find by typing "my ip" into google. Or you can also join through the server list and look under the LAN tab.
@@TSwis Just tried both methods, the server won't show up in LAN with no filters, and the I still fail to connect to the server with my network IP. Guess I ran out of luck. Thank you so much for the help though! Great vid and I also like the little humor on the original video!
