@mmtuts please help me i cant find my portforwarding i have been looking at plenty youtube videos for days please :'( i know im late but i really need it
You know I have to admit man your video seems pretty solid I haven’t tried it yet but for the first time I have actually found somebody that speaks through my perspective I feel the same way dude how people when they explain stuff anymore it’s almost like they’re explaining it as if you should already know the basics or whatever and it’s like no the reason I’m looking this up is to know every single step in detail I want to know exactly what I’m seeing and what I need to click
Dude! This is the first youtube tutorial that I have ever watched that ended up with imediate results... and good results! Thanks a lot man! Keep it up!
Bro u made my whole damn week!!!! Was tired of fixing my Fast Proxy, due to port forwarding. But this video was my guide and it helped to the extent that i succeeded! Thank you brother... Sincerely Harry
Just a tip - if you don't want to go through the pain of clicking throught the control panel to find your IP-adresses, just type "cmd" into the start menu and press enter - a console-interface will pop up, type "ipconfig" and there you have your adresses, _you can even copy them_.
that is correct, you can even see information about any wifi including the password "netsh wlan show profiles" to show profiles you recently connected to "netsh wlan show profile (whatever the wifi name is) key=clear" to see everything about it, ip address, password and a bunch else i don't understand
any examples of games which you already port forward, i need a toutorial to port forward halflife... ah and do i need if i create a router network a service of configurations acces to the router over HTTPS or an local network with Services in the local network that should be accessible from the Internet... ? there to options if click on port forwarding ??
yes and what do I enter as the protocol and I only have 2 fields to fill out and only the port from to there is nothing else there. Just anyone Service: option HTTP and 6 more, Protocol: UDP/TCP and 12 more, Original destination port/range: Specify port or specify port range And a selection of destination with all devices probably from the house...
Thank you men !! True ppl think that you suppose to know !! i hate does type o videos that they said they going to explain but they miss a lot of info.
I am not good at alot of things in this life but 1 thing I am good at may be analogies. Isn't it better to describe like this- You get into your car with your friends. They all want to go to a city and you say "I need to know which city you want to go to, give me a name" They say "Steam City." Then you need to know what highway to take that will get you all to the correct destination because not all roads lead to all cities or towns. I think that is an easy way to understand it- you need to know the destination, the name of the destination you want to got to and the highway that will lead you there and then just put the address in. Except instead of putting it in your GPS, you put it in your network because it is digital. Am I close?
I've honestly never heard of port forwarding despite having this issue for a while, most resources/threads I've found never even mention it till one I found yesterday
HIDani, thanks for the video, just one question after you set up everything on your router, what do you do next to be a server\? Just create new games and your good to go? im playing cs 1.6 please help
This was very helpful, I am having one issue though. I am using Google wifi...the only issue I am having is with the ports. In your video it asks input for a local start and end, as well as a external start and end. In the google options I can only put one input for external ports and one input for internal ports. Thanks for the helop!
How does this work with Charter Internet? You cannot access the router. When you type in the IP address to go there in the browser, it ends up directing me to a site to download their app. It has port forwarding on their app but it is a little different. It asks for an internal and external port but nothing else is an option.
It's the command prompt in Windows... type "cmd" or "cmd.exe" into Windows Search to find it... then, type "ipconfig" or "ipconfig /all" and press enter... Viola!
The default password on most modems, or Routers is: Username: admin Password: admin This should also be listed on the label of the router, on the bottom of the router, as SuperGT says.
If you select steam in the dropdown list, won't it automatically fill in the details for you? I think that manufacturers build those into the routers, you just need to select what you need. On another note, my router is so old that that my list doesn't seem to go beyond Unreal Tournament, Queck 3, and windows 2000 stuff lol
i went to my ipv4 default gateway and it said This page isn’t working (my ipv4 default gateway) didn’t send any data. ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE what do i do about that?
THIS IS WHAT I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR FOR FOR FOR!!!!! WEEEEEKS!!!! TY....one question tho in my routers software ui there is no "port forwarding" only "single port forwarding" ...are these the same thing?
So when i do everything and me and my buddies are done playing what should we do after that. Should I leave everything as it is or should I close the ports and if I need to close them how can I do that.
Very informative video. I got the port forwarding down, however, does ANYONE know how I can get another PC to be on the same port as my main PC? I tried connecting the 2nd PC to the same ports and it gave me "pinhole error XXX".
I tried this for heroes 3 and there are 3 ports, 8766; 27015: 27016 and my router has only options to insert start ports and end ports, but heroes has also 8766, where do I put that?
+mmtuts It more than likely will be the same as yours unless you've done some major network management or aren't from the States. Something tells me it was to the tune of 192.168.1.1?
okay soo say i need to forward port 80 TCP do i forward start 80 to end 80? when people say UDP 3000-3010 i am putting start port 3000 and end port 3010? im fimiliar with how to enter my router and navigate to port forwarding my router even allows me to choose a device rather than manually finding th IP address, but im not sure what to put in the start/end port fields if its not started, im being told i need port 80,443, and 3000-3010, the last one is obvious its two numbers but the first TDC ones are only one number do i enter that in both fields?
Does this work for DayZ Standalone Offline Servers? I downloaded the DayZ Offline server from Steam to play offline but it does not show up in my LAN. I am not sure if this video is for me or addresses another type of problem. I just want to be able to play offline by myself to work on Mods in the game.
when I type my ip address it doesn't work. No site pops up it says its an error what should I do? edit: nevermind, i tried the deafult getaway address and it worked thank you I'm gonna continue now
I get always to the point putting in my default gateway into google chrome browser. And i wait. Then it tells me This site can't be reached "number" took too long to respond. Well hope find the answer how overcome this problem one day.
For all those who have Videotron as a service provider, I just called and apparently they aren't allowed to give out the port access information. They can only tell you what ports they have blocked but you aren't allowed to change it....
Does this fix the issue if i'm trying to play Co-op Multiplayer of Dying Light because it's showing moderate nat and for some reason it doesn't show any lobby when i search i think it's because of my Nat Type...
i dont have the Local IP adress even... ffs... in mine Port forwarding i am getting: Name: Protocol: WAN Connection: WAN Host IP Range: MAC Mapping: Lan Host IP Adress: WAN Port Range: LAN Host port range... nothing even matches with your settings...
Mine literally only says external and internal ports but I can only type in the external because it carries over to internal but idk what numbers to type in
If the password under thr router doesn't work to access it then depress the reset button till the lights go out and come back on again and it should be factory reset to the password on the sticker.
