Looking at these videos gives me assurance that I'm on the right track. I recently overcame that F chord barrier 😄. Earlier I used to play it with three strings (without using e string), now I play it barred 😊 Although I'm still working on switching from a barre chord to a non barre chord shape and vice-versa quickly; like switching from F to Dm, from Bm to C etc. But I've overcome so many little barriers like these till now that I have started taking it for granted that I'll eventually get comfortable doing it smoothly. I don't think about this stuff much now. I just pick up my uke everyday, play songs on it for anything between 5 to 45 minutes (depending on the kind of mood I'm in 😄), and have fun with it. 😊😊
That’s a fantastic attitude! And I love that you can take one victory and use it as evidence that you will have more victories. That’s a really helpful way to stay excited about our musical growth! Thank you for sharing.
Great video - and timely for me after a losing battle with F#minor last evening! Especially appreciate the reassurance that this is not easy for lots of folks.
Thank you! Yes, I think that’s something we all need reminding of-new things, especially as adults, can take a really long time to pick up. That doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with us. But it’s good practice for pursuing long term goals in all areas of life, I think!
