For my improvement in practice this year, I’ve been making myself use at least half of my inspection. It’s been working great! I’ve already gotten my first sub-4 2x2 average. 3.51 seconds!
I had my second competition on Sunday! (Day after this video was released) Brody's tips from one of his previous videos, "Only focus on what's important," on what to do in competitions really helped and I got a best time of 14.58 seconds!
I want to get sub 20 on 3x3 this year. I try to be color neutral and learn pll. Later on in the year i will be try to plan my first f2l pair in inspection. I think after doing so i will be sub 20. Your a big inspiration for me and you got me motiveted to practice again. Thank you so much Brody!
I think that one thing you can do to turn more fluidly is to turn slightly slower and make sure to complete each turn. Edit: In a video by Kian mansour (who uses roux, but i think this applies to cfop) called What I learned from gilles roux and Alex lau he talks about this. You should check it out.
Just set your priorities straight, i do my homework, eat or something then practice on my cubing. I also cube at school, while i do things like homework and just everyday stuff.
Gnascor _:D yeah but you can only do that if you don’t have any other activities which most people do. Also the only time in school is at lunch at that’s a time to eat and be social.
Things I'll be focusing on specifically: 1. 3x3 - Planning First Block + DR in inspection. 2. 3x3 - Predicting CMLL during Second Block 3. 3x3 - LSE Transition between 4a and 4b 4. Megaminx - F2L efficiency 5. Megaminx - Planning Star + 1 pair in inspection 6. Megaminx - Last Layer 7.Clock - Planning part of second cross in inspection. 8. Clock - Using x2 to switch faces instead of y2 9. Clock - Seeing how turning different dials affects orientation of corners. 10. 4x4 - Transition between F2C and cross-edges 11. 4x4 - Efficiency during L3C 12. 4x4 - Minimising rotations during edges. 13. 4x4 - Predicting parity in 3x3 stage
I highly suggest learning VLS for learning new algorithms if you want to improve at 3x3x3. I wouldnt know for other puzzles, because i main 3x3x3. Hope this helps you out, because this will cut solve times by a bit.
@@BrodytheCuber I was already going to Like this video. That just confirmed it. Awesome video regardless. Great information. You are spot on and I like how you apply practice techniques to cubes and similar puzzles.
Last year In may I started doing 7x7 I improved a lot and will keep improving this year. Now that I am a bit faster I will learn more last two edge cases and big cube plls. I was lazy to do them for a while but your other video about saying you can't do something got me to learn some. I have mostly just done a bunch of solves, ,but sometimes I will just do edges or centers. To do that I use my multiple 7x7s ,I have 5, even though some aren't as good. It is still good practice. Sometimes a 7x7 is on sale on the cubicle for 12 Dollars. That is a good time if you want to buy many. I even got one for 8 dollars on black Friday sale. I haven't watched all the Tuesday tip videos, but I hang out in Kevin Hays live stream all the time and watch solve analysis. That has helped.
Suggestion if your even still looking at this Try and make up a Alg. And practice those and keep making up new ones. This is Also good for finger tricks.
For General turning, take a Rubiks brand ( or any bad cube) and do a few solves with it, after that take a good speed cube and your tips increases after the really bad Rubiks brand
in just 2 months of practice i learned cfop and got below 20 sec. i still do not know all the oll algs and the advanced f2l cases but i am speeding up by the day.
For Megaminx S2L scrambles, just do random turns on all the non F2L Faces. It wouldn't be as affective as random state scrambles, but is better than nothing.
This helped me alot! I learned look ahead a couple of days ago and my pb on 2 by 2 is now 0.90 single and 2.51 average. My pb on 3 by 3 is 3.36 single and 4.53 average.
I have around like 45- 1 minute I was gonna get sub 30 but I had to take it slow I'm going sub 40 idk how to improve but ima work on my Advanced F2L to get better and get in some oll and pll and finger tricks for sure
Do you have a practice technique for planning the cross? I am really struggling on how to do it and I don't know if watching example solved are worth the time. Please help :')
Roy Smit watching example solves and advanced cross tutorials will help you learn to do the cross more efficiently. once you can do efficient cross plan the cross by trying to find the most efficient solution and visualize the moves in your your head. Take as much time as you need to inspect and once you've come up with your solution do it without looking. It my be fusturating at first as you'll mess up a lot but keep practicing and eventually you'll get better at it.
Thanks for the tips because I always solve a cube many times but I still don't get better and one question j perm said a tip about x cross in which cross and f2l pair ae made together is it compulsory to reach the average of 20 secs?
It has more to do with skill level and knowlegde than speed. But based on what you probably know with a sub 25 average, you're probably still beginner/intermediate
Hey! This year i want to be sub 10 on 3x3 I already average sub 14 I am full fridrich, the thing is that i dont know what methot or submethot like cll learn? That is the next step for me?. Im sub 21 on OH and i want to become sub 20 or even lower in this year! So wish me luck! :) and good vid
I will practice 3x3 cause I can solve 2x2 in 7 seconds I am trying to be sub1 my average is high can you make me a time to beat thank you have a nice time
Hey broody I am going to have to go to a national competition next month. I have followed all ur tips but there is only slow improvement. I feel I am not improving fast enough. Can u help
You probably became faster since you wrote this? If you are doing cfop (if not, do it), try to watch especially f2l tutorials where you can improve it. Also learn full pll if you haven't and 2 look oll. On that base you will improve
