For traveling spins try to keep your footwork small and even (not putting more weight or time on one side vs the other) this will help you get faster along with working on your spotting :)

You can, but it may end up hurting the soles of your feet or hinder you from spinning faster and more reps. There are these slip ons you can put over your feet if you want the barefoot feeling with some protection: Foot Thongs a.co/d/e1Z48QW
