I only do a "bad word pivot" if I lose balance; then I say something like, "@#$%&*". Kidding! This was a rare opportunity. Facundo remains amongst the very best in the world, and his tips, explanation, and of course demonstration were invaluable. The fact that this world champion agreed to work with Tango Space reinforces the credibility of the wonderful Pablo and Anne. Much appreciation to all.

He breaks down some of the moves that always look so impressive. Hope my husband will practice these movements and take them to the dance floor. Thank you Facundo and Tango Space

The Tango class I attend has is doing this. It does not matter which direction that I go, I always lose my balance..I can do the quarter turn, but anything more, I lose my balance. My ankles are not the greatest shape.

Try to stand in front of a mirror. Feet hip length apart and go up on the balls of ur feet and look in the mirror to make sure u r straight. Hold on to a chair if u can’t balance . Do 8 repetitions. Up and hold , if u have a barre that works too

try to stay on your forefoot while you do the quarter turns as he showed in this video. So stand on your forefoot, dissociate, associate and so on and just stay on your forefoot for like 8 quarter turns or something and them switch sides. If you can do this without struggeling you easily have the balance to combine the quarter turn where you start with upper body and the one where you start with your lower body to a half turn and then 3/4 and the full. I feel like the quarter turns were actually the hardest part to master. But as I said: maybe you dont actually have mastered the balance in the quarter turns and you just fall onto your heel after the turn, so staying on the forefoot would be a good excercise.

Thank you for this advice. It is what every instructor has been telling me, and it is what I am doing, yet I still lose my balance. I have been going to Tango Technique classes lately, and it has not been very encouraging. Too many tines ( not once in a while) I have difficulty doing the exercises being done. If there is a dance step exercise happening Goin the length of the dance floor....say 30 feet...others are waiting for me to get to the other side. With a dance step exercise staying at the same place, many times I am only able to go 2/3 the speed of everyone else. I simply do not have the coordination and mechanics in dance skills as most out there. So, I only do what I can.

I came up with (the first parts) of this exercise several years ago when I decided to stop falling down on pivots. I had to start with the smallest pivot I could do, about 1/12 turn, pausing after every micro pivot to be sure I was balanced and relaxed. After this got comfortable I went to 1/6 turns, then 1/4,1/3,1/2,3/4, only increasing the pivot when the smaller pivot was comfortable and reliable. This worked for me, after years of frustration trying to make big pivots work for me all at once.
