When in private recitation or small group not led by a priest, it is customary to pray the collect from the 21st Sunday after Trinity - "Grant, we beseech thee, merciful Lord, to thy faithful people pardon and peace, that they may be cleansed from all their sins, and serve thee with a quiet mind; through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen." after the confession of sin as a substitute for the Priestly absolution.
