Another cracking episode guys!! Loved the interview and nice to see someone making a go of it still shooting film! And I can vouch for the Cyanotype process, not only is it cheap but it’s great fun creating an image from the shoot to development then to print it out using the Cyanotype process, having full control over the whole process brings a lot of satisfaction! #longlivefilm

Good show and I liked the sunset/rise explanations. The printing options were all familiar - I started making contact prints from old 120 roll film as an 8-year-old and progressed through various darkroom setups till I processed all my own colour and B&W films including slides(remember Cibachrome?!) and produced prints up to 20x30inches. But when I switched to digital I gave most of my kit to the local high school camera club. I kept the film processing bits(thankfully) and still process my own B&W films today. But printing is fully digital. I haven't used C-type though, so I'll give that a go soon. Keep up the good work.

Great overview of printing options! When I shot film for the first time in years, the prints I got from the lab looked fine. But I was disappointed with my shots: They were not really sharp, had blown-out lights, and an overall smudgy look to them. I thought, maybe my metering was off, ISO 400 being too grainy, or I needed new glasses. Not at all! Once I did some prints in the darkroom, even with my limited skills, they turned out great. It was like switching video quality settings from 360p to 1080p … If you've never seen the difference, you won't believe it.

This was an excellent episode. I normally find the background music too intrusive but it seemed to be a tad quieter this time. This meant I was able to concentrate on what was being said, rather than having to skip between subtitles and the visual images. It's no fun watching a presentation about images when you can't look at them because you're concentrating on subtitles! But I found this episode to be more accessible and I enjoyed it as well as improving my knowledge of photography. Thank you. 👍

The most expensive photograph ever sold, Man Ray's 'Le Violon d'Ingres', for $12.4 Million . IMHO, this shows how ridiculous he ' Art ' market is. As beautiful as this photograph is, it is nothing but a still life, ie: it is repeatable in many shapes or form. Ansel Adams once sighed at the large sums that his photographs were fetching. For me though, as a landscape photographer, Moonrise Over Hernadez remains as one of the most extraordinary photographs ever produced. It was the representation of a magical moment in time, never to be repeated exactly, and had it not not been for the brilliance, technical expertise and presence of mind of Adams , we would have been deprived of witnessing such an ' out of this world ' natural spectacle in print. Thank you for your informative video.

I'm at 68.3°N latitude so we have very a very shallow angle for the track of the sun, so fairly long sunrise and sunset windows. However, we have cloudy skies not just overhead but to the horizon a lot. Summer we have 60 days of sunlight and 30 days with no sunrise/sunset in winter. But when we have an epic sunrise or sunset, it is epic.

Particularly appreciated the segment about printmaking. I gave up on inkjets years ago because of the cost of ink. I wasn't aware of C prints - I will be looking into that. Haven't the space for a wet darkroom anymore, and no community facility nearby. Alternative Processes - Wow! What a brilliant thing to try when you think you have something good on your hands - More Please! I see you are planning more on digital negatives - is there any chance of using a laser printer for this?

Every time I see a Mamiya RZ67 on the channel it hurts! I sold mine part exchange for a 70-200mm f/2.8. I loved that camera and produced some of my best work on it. One day I'll have to get another one and also revive my jammed Nikon FE2s! In this digital world where I depend on that medium for stock, I still hanker after film and the darkroom. Still, reassuring to see that I have exactly the same model of inkjet printer as Nick! Another hugely inspiring episode, guys. Well done!

Hahahaha! The way you pronounce Ingres would be written in French as engrais, which simply means manure. The emphasis is on the first syllable and is pronounced as the "in" in pint and the second is mute, as in " buy me a pint", the "a", of course. Hope this helps😄
