This tutorial show how to carry out earth resistance test for commercial and resident building . Proper setting is importance for getting the better and accurate test result .
Hiiii... You mean, first disconnect the earth cable from earth pit?? OR Can we shutdown the entire system before measuring earth resistance?? Pls guide
One more thing what's the distance between two consecutive Earth Pit what's the exact standard if you can please explain this the the minimum distance between two consecutive Earth pits
Hi sir. You did a very informative video thanks. I've a question for you.In the video you did the test on a big compound. I'm in a terrace house and the compound is very limited. I can't pull the yellow and red cable that long..only 3-4 meters to the nearest soil. Will it affect the reading? Please advice thks.
When current is injected into the earth, then the voltage will change around the location of injection. The voltage reference cable spike needs to be some distance from the points where current is injected or removed, in order to try and find a location with minimal disturbance of earth voltage potential.
Kedalam nya sehingga rod gak bisa masuk lagi..baru di uji..jika masih tidak mendapat kan bacaan yg dikehendaki..buat point baru sehingga mendapat bacaan yg paling rendah
when lightning strikes the earth doesn't the surge enter the house via the earth wiring? If so isn't it dangerous, probably better not to have any earthing system at all?
Thank you for the effort made in the video.... I have a question... Is it true that the yellow wire is supposed to be an extension of the red wire, meaning on one line to give the reading... Why change in yellow only and should it be changed in red? ??
Use a combination of vertical and horizontal grounding! My tip would be get copper/or in poorer countries galvanized pipe works well enaugh and install it in conjunction with galvanized steel bar/ or do the same but with copper if you can afford it!
Yes it should be disconnected from service. If the voltage is more than 10 it will destroy the meter and also give false reading. Please read the user manual reg the max voltage limit that the meter will work safely in energised service without disconnection.
Jika persekitaran rumah tamn agak sukar nk ambil bacaan,sb permukaan tanah @ berturap simen Dan jalan tar. 1- minutes 6.15 mase kita clamp wayar di electrod bumi.yg seeloknya copper tape @ cable incoming perlu ditanggalkan @ tidak semasa nak ambil bacaan.klu sye lihat Tuan x buka ..
Not really it depends on the situation and regulations of the country. We usually do it at the installation state, we check each time the rod is inserted to the earth. These guys in the video are doing inspection for application form.
Hi sir I have a doubt. Could you please tell me the difference between 2 point, 3 point method. In megger it has 4 terminals C1, C2, P1, P2. how to measure earth pit resistance?
Short C1 and P1 and connect to electrode under test. P2 is for potential and C2 is for current spike. This is known as 3 point or Fall of Potential method. 4 terminals method is for testing soil as per Wenner method. This is for civil guys and not for electrical guys. Reg 2 point earth pit resistance testing: In India we don't/cant use this method because our public water supply is thru PVC pipes which is non conductor. Hope this helps.
Saya nak tanya, bukankah testing dibuat semasa pemasangan rod sahaja (sebelum kita sambungkan dengan earth DB atau sebelum sambung ke perlindungan kilat)
Hello, this is Kyoritsu Japan. It is so honor that you used our product. We highly trust we can learn more from your excellence in feedback on electrical equipment. If you don't mind, we can contact via email.
Earth Impedance/resistance. 20ohms is the range of that particular selection of the meter. If there is no reading in that range, we need to find it in the next range which is 200ohm range, and if still no reading needs to step up to the next range which is 2000ohm. Earth Impedance/resistance depends on the regulations of the country. For example my country only allows under 50ohm for residential areas, under 10ohm for public areas and under 1ohm for substation/transformers/high sensitivity industrial equipment.
Good country with laws and people that know a well earth ground safe tere life, reduce EMC, lower the body contact voltage, ... Wow well electrician = You controlled (only optical) the ground connection boxes around the house. For the beginning well done. I hope you measure the low resistance later to be sure that the connections are not corroded. Fine work und knowledge ! Well done. Attention your result is influence of the premium earth groundind metal in the earth. Keep the measuring line far away or you get worse results. 2.10 Ohm is very very low = perfect but in my country I start thinking why is it so low ? Where is the fault to get these brilliant results ? Very wet earth ? Under the measuring line = really no water pips, no powerlines, no other pipes/metallsheets , ... What is hidden under the bid concret by the 2nd Spike movement. Testing the earth voltage = well done you know the users manual ! Perfect We use different instruments in europe (english version form page 37 to page 72) www.dehn.de/store/f/27628622/EBA/1805_060583_GEOHM_Messger%C3%A4t.pdf And other brands. My thumb up for your video.
@@bruce.bchannel9046 boleh tambah point lagi tu..atau guna wayer tembaga bogel gulung jadi kan coil...tanam terus dlm tanah.hujung nya sambung ke electrod yang sedia ada..
Hi, I have a Kyoritsu 4105A unit too, and I am getting "1. . ." reading at 20 ohm dial, who do you think is the problem, and how to fix this? Thank you.
@@nasiadomary4893 1. If possible increase the depth of electrode. 2. Insert another electrode at a distance of at least twice the buried depth of 1st electrode and link both at top. Eg.: If 1 st electrode buried depth = 3 M then second electrode should be installed at a distance of minimum 6 M away and both should be linked with wire or strip at the top. 3. Wet the pit by watering because dry earth is a bad conductor. Note : Chemical electrodes are fraud work. Hope all this helps.
It depends on your country standards. But the Best is the nearest to 0 ohms which is imposible to get 0 ohms. Also there are many methods to make the measurraments, it depends on your country standards too.
Very Very different to how it's done in the UK, In the UK those reading wouldn't be satisfactory but the method is way different so I don't know. Interesting though
@@azleeman biasanya ada 2 jenis earth tester yg selalu diguna measure grounding resistance. yg dlm video ni guna kyoritsu & location potential spike tu ditengah2 antara ground rod & current spike. yg satu lg jenama megger tapi jarak potential spike tu 62% dari jarak antara earth rod & current spike. & potential spike tu kena ubah 10% ke depan % 10% ke belakang dari kedudukan asal & diambil average dr 3 reading td. mungkin kat uk guna jenama megger sbb tu dia ckp different dgn kt sini.
I have to perform this same test but outside of the building is all concrete, a shower room will be built in the basement but first the neutral to earth voltage needs to be tested, so how would I go about this?
Check with normal clamp or multimeter in volts mode between earth and neutral of any 3 pin socket connected to that service. The voltage value should be below 2. Hope this helps.
Thumb rule for current spike distance from electrode = Minimum 8 to 10 times the buried depth of earth electrode. Eg., If earth electrode is 3 M long then C spike should placed about 24 to 30 M distance. This is to avoid '"zone of influence"' factor. Most manufacturers wont tell this because the distance will affect their tester sales in city and town areas where space is congested. So they suggest 5 M and 10 M which will not yield correct value. I challenge Kyoritsu in this matter.
