Thanks. I'm a 44 yr old single dad & I just bought my daughter a microscope, but could not remember how to create a slide. It's a good thing I went on here because when I saw the cover glass I was confused. I thought you just put the water, the sample, and another slide on top. Or, put water, sample, cover glass and another slide. It has only been about 35 yrs since I've done anything with a microscope, so I definitely had no clue what to do. Thanks again! You saved me a lot of time, and money.
You shouldn’t drop the cover slip, as that will create air bubbles. It needs to be slowly lowered over the slide at an angle to prevent a bubble filled slide. Also, don’t use your fingers, use tweezers to avoid contaminating the specimen.
Doesn't that squish it flat? When I'm looking at ants, I don't put the top square cover...because I assume it will squish it flat and ruin all the detail & shape of things like eyes and such. How did it look for you?
