Heat and bond on felt - who knew! Thank you so much for sharing this tip. I just tried it to cover the back of some embroidery on wool felt. Worked like a charm 💞

Lisa you are so kind sharing all your patterns and tips, I've never made anything with felt and couldn't imagine it being any good, BUT WOW !!!! All your projects are more than just beautiful, they have amazed me 😊 I will never turn my nose up at felt EVER again, I want to make some things NOW 😂 Time to shop and decide which one of your lovely free patterns to pick. You really are one of the most generous crafters on youtube, Thankyou so much for your sharing your inspirational and wonderful talents with us all 💖 🐧 🐼 🐶🐺xx
Thank you! I’m glad to see all your tutorials! I thought you only worked with WOOL felt. I looked to buy it and was blown away at the cost 😳….glad to know you use the acrylic which is way more affordable and easy to find! I can’t wait to make some of your patterns ❤️
I've Just stumbled in your Canal anb fehlt a little bit flashed. When my daughter was young I Made some plushies out of Nicki Fabric that had to be prepared just like that. As I've been freed from working bei a returnal of my uninvited guest cancer which was unkind enough to bring his whole family I was able to start moving slightly to upgrade my skills to Patchwork - and I love what you show US. Thank you so much for your kind efforts.
Absolutely love your channel.❤ Thank you for the clear and precise instructions. I've finished off donkey (pin cushion) number 20 today!!! I am making them for a local quilt shop and the ladies are crazy about them. You are super creative and very talented. I've also shared pics on Facebook along with the link to your channel 🌷🌸 Be blessed. Much love from Johannesburg. South Africa. 🕊️
Thank you for sharing your input on the felt I didn’t know about this extra stable on your fabric can’t wait to try one of your projects thank you so much
Excellent tutorials! I've done a lot of sewing in my time and I love how new tips can always be found :) Applying your felt techniques to my current projects. Thanks!
I am so glad you explained the fusible bond thing. In the states it's hard to find fusible webbing. Here all along I have bolts of HeatnBond and tons of acrylic felt so I am set to go. I do design some characters too but I also enjoy the work all artists. Thanks so much for sharing Lisa. I really appreciate it.
You are a very talented lady, I’m so glad I found your channel. I’ve just bought myself a load of felt and can’t wait to start making some projects with it. I have arthritic hands so the fact I can use a sewing machine with most of the project is great. I’ve had to almost given up crocheting and knitting so was looking for a new hobby and finding your channel has filled my brain with lots of possibilities. Thank you
Thank you so I much Lisa. I learn so much from your tutorials, the little dolls I make for the shoe box's will be so much easier now I know how to bond felt.
Thank you! I have a felt project with fiddly little bees, I'd battled to keep some tiny parts intact so your tips here will help for certain, also, the synthetic felt, I picked up a bundle for about $2.50, haven't used it, considered donating it, now I know how to prepare it for use I can get busy.
I had never thought of using felt in any project until I began watching your videos. And, I want to say now, you have won me over. Thank you. This seems the very best for a personalized Grandbabies Dollie.
Wow. Thank you. I was having trouble with the needles passing through the edge as I tried to sew donuts for decor for an event. I was just on Etsy and bought a bunch of patterns for felt and your tips are going to be a tremendous help. Thank you!
An AMAZING video! I am new to felt projects and would love to make ornaments. I have tried, with little success because the felt is too thin and flimsy in the smaller, delicate areas and falls apart. This looks to be a game changer and I'm now very excited to try again and hopefully have felt ornaments to give for Christmas 2024.
Very informative. So many great tips and cute projects as your props. I really love the fabric idea. Never would have thought of that on my own. Fabric is something I have totes full of.
Thank you for sharing your skill, craft and tips. You have made this project a lot easier for me. I am trying to do an art project with a student on an IEP. We are doing a felt hanging mobile, based on the book "Around the world in 80 Days" by Jules Verne. But I was stuck on how to make this easier for the student as they struggle with fine motor skills and for me to prep it without using hot glue. Between your video and another felter/crafters video I think I have figured out how to make this project possible for the student and myself. (Going to use a tiny hole punch to create holes in the felt, trade in the small metal needle for a bigger plastic darning needle and use fusible webbing to attach the details. I will applique and punch holes in advance and the student will stitch, stuff and hang the pieces.) I would have never thought of using fusible webbing. Genius!
Thank you. I made a felt name with garland with animals for my granddaughter and found the stitches pulling through the felt etc. I will seal the felt as you’ve suggested for future projects as granddaughter wants more animals and daughter would like similar for her boys. So here’s to the future.
I'm loving your tutorials - just found you this week. I'm already doing so many Christmas projects that it may be after Christmas before I get to try any of these. We have a new baby coming to the family in May and I'm thinking of a fish mobile with a matching quilt! Can't wait to get started. Thank You
Hello. Nicce to meet you. I hope you go back or get notices from subscribers who are watching old videos. I have been looking and enjpying your channel, your skill, your creativity, your generosity and your accent. American here: Mary from Maryland USA. I’m a life long, and long lived, sewer, painter, musician, knitter, baker etc. i was astounded at your sharing so much detail and tricks to making stuffed figures. Your ability to see an image in pattern pieces is amazing. Your minds eye has 20-20 vision to figure out what a flat piece of a sewing machine should be. I better stop, have more to say, but will wait until I can join your group of advanced artists. So, other subscribers, ‘bear’ with me for this lengthy comment. Yes, I do Pay lots of things forward too. Such a nice example. Cheers.
I am new to sewing and learning a lot from your videos, thank you so much for them 🙏😊 I have made your camper van pin cushion so far, it is sooo cute 😍
Hi Lisa: Great tips! Just bought a colorful pack of blended wool felt. Haven’t used it yet, but I’m sure I’ll be making lots of things, thanks to your videos. Thank you for sharing. 💜😎🇺🇸
That was very helpful and useful. I have used felt in my creations but never thought to use heat and bond to extend the life of the felt. I will do this definitely on future projects. Thank You soooo Much !!
Such good advice. Thank you so much for this video. It was very informative and seeing your wonderful creations in the background makes me feel I can improve the quality of my work too ❤
Thank you so much for this video. You've just mentioned I can use it for applique. Still watching, but ...I'm subscribing straight away. God bless you.
Thank you for your videos love watching them I have just made my first jointed teddy you have been a big help. Live in England had to stay in the house for weeks , have you made a book again thank you.
Thank you Daphne and Welcome! I’m glad you have joined my journey. I haven’t put out a book as yet, I feel I can offer you all more this way For Free!🥰🤗
Thank you so much - I am in the process of making an Australian baby animal mobile for our first unborn Grandchild. I wish I had seen this before I cut out the patterns. Going forward I will be using this method. Cheers - Catherine
Hello, I just found your channel and I love it. You are so generous with your patterns. I am going to get busy making Christmas gifts. I have never sewn felt. Are there any more videos telling about the felt. Thanks.
Hi Linda and Welcome! I’m happy to introduce you to felt sewing!, That video pretty much covers it, any of my projects in felt have lots of additional tips and tricks to help you along the way, happy sewing!😊🥰
Thank you for answering my question about using felt for lining, I'm glad I asked. One more question, is quilting felt fabric a good idea just for decorative purposes?
This was most useful, thank you for everything you do. I love your work and I have just joined your facebook group. I have also just done all the interfacing and cutting out of the pattern pieces for your rag doll pattern. T x
@@payitforward9442 I am hopeful that I can get the doll finished today but only if I can get it done before it gets too warm in my house lol. It has been rather warm for Scotland the past couple of days. We are not used to warm weather :( lol T x
I'm glad I watched this before using felt! I bought a bolt of felt at an estate sale, it's really just wrapped around stiff fiberboard, no info on fiber content. It's black, it's pretty thin, and it's kind of rough to touch. Not like the craft felt I've seen. The lady used to be a theater costumer and she must have used it for that...? I haven't unwrapped it and measured yet.
Hi! My latest Video, Needle felting with Flat felt, has a Link in the description box for my Felt Supplier here in Oz, they ship overseas too. It is fabulous quality and 2mm thick and very inexpensive. I hope this helps! I would only use very thin felt for Appliqué.🥰
@@payitforward9442 Well, I unpinned that black "felt" bolt and looked inside the fold. It appears to be fake fur instead of felt. What I thought was hard felt was actually the back side of the fake fur. It is 56" wide and there is about 3 yards of it. It would make a pretty cool stuffed animal, if it stretches enough like it seems it should. It is sort of short-haired fur, like you might see on a stuffed bear or a real horse or a real smooth-coated dog. I will wait until I have some practice with regular fabric before I try the fancy stuff.
Locally, our only store caries acrylic felt which is horribly thin and often can be seen through. Might you offer some suggestions/links for washable acrylic felt and the wool-viscose blended felt? Thank you.
Thank you for sharing your very helpful tips. I make felt dolls and I found these tips to be game changers! How to you recommend I treat doll faces and bodies before sewing? Heat bond or woven interfacing? Same with doll dresses. Would you use interfacing or heat bond. I'm so glad I found these tips! With these options I can create without using glue.
