I attended Jonesboro this year...fans also notice player's professionalism in their interaction with the fans, good days or bad. Much respect from me to have witnessed first hand your willingness to do so. It's a big part of the continued growth of the sport and it's easy to see why you are the greatest.
Took my daughter to ledgestone years ago. Rain delay happened and Paul was super nice and signed a disc and took a picture with her even though his round hadn't been going great. I admired the kindness and professionalism he's always had. 5 years later she still loves that disc.
You helped save my life Paul! When I was bed ridden. Depressed and incredibly sick with Lyme Disease a few years ago. I could hardly walk and lost 60 lbs. Watching you play everyday on RU-vid helped motivate me to get back on the course slowly and helped my body regain strength enough to beat this stupid disease! Very grateful for what you’ve done and are doing!
Love the behind the scenes look at tournaments! I would like to see more of how you mentally and physically prepare yourself before a round and also how you let yourself unwind.
Great video, Paul (& Hannah). Love seeing this type of content. “In the bags” are always nice, but the insights from your course prep and fan interaction thoughts were great!
Paul, I'm a big Warriors fan and you remind me so much of Steph Curry. I appreciate your humility and honesty paired with the competitive killer instinct and confidence. That's why you're the GOAT!
Enjoyed all your info on preparing for tournaments, but I have to say my favorite part was the fan interaction. I know you went over this, but when you pros acknowledge the fans it means the world to us no matter what the age. That young boy you gave your putters to will be telling that story for the rest of his life. Just a great classy act. Thank you Paul for all you've done for the sport , and best of luck this year.
This was a really cool video. Thank you for sharing so much of yourself. You are the bench mark of disc golf in my mind right now. I mentally evaluate player performance on a given round relative to Paul McBeth. I think many players can credit the careers that are now available them to your innovative work in marketing and developing the platform of the sport. Eighteen under rounds of course didn't hurt a thing in that area. Ironically the most impressive thing I ever saw you do was lose. Worlds 2021 must have been a heart break, but you took it with perfect class and showed perfect professionalism. My son and I are planning the 717 mile drive to watch you at the Portland Open. I am very excited for it. It would be fun to see your awesome professionalism in a win there. I wish you the best in your preparation and performance for that tournament. I really liked this video because it felt like it brought me on tour with you a little bit as I was able to know a little more about what you did and how you thought of things. A series that I really miss is the Champs vs. Chumps. I really liked that because as a chump disc golfer it was fun to day dream about how fun it would be to compete against the best even with a clear advantage of having more shots. I am not into trademark law so I am not suggesting this name because even not knowing anything it feels like it might infringe if it wasn't done by Central Coast, but I think a Champs with Chumps series would be amazing and a total dream if I could ever play in it. The idea would be some format of doubles where the champs were required to take a certain number of chump shots, but there was still some clear room for strategy. You are awesome Paul! I hope to say hi in Portland!
GOAT. I say this not just based on results, but on the way Paul goes about things. Such a great example of a professional athlete who is such a positive driving force in their sport. When the top players set such a great example, it really sets the culture of the sport. I'm a huge fan and very thankful for glimpses into the behind the scenes like this video. Cheers.
This has probably been one of my favorite videos you have ever posted. I have watched just about every one of you that I could find. I respect you so much for the fan interaction, even after a bad round. That really shows a ton about your character. I have only been playing a little over a year , so the part where you showed what’s in your bag and how and when you use them was very good for me. I throw all Discraft, but I am still learning proper discs to use for certain shots so thank you for that. Hope to see you crushing it on tour this year
Paul, you're my favorite player not because you are the greatest of all time. But because you're the greatest and you carry yourself like that. Honestly a model for all sports and life in general. I'll be rooting for you this year. Thanks, man!
I loves this video. This just shows why you are the GOAT. The insights and the behind the scenes view was incredible. Honestly more videos like this would be incredible. The sport has grown so much. And not only are you on the forefront, but I believe that are one of the main reasons it has become more professional and hopefully more mainstream Thank you for all you do
This is great disc golf content. Incredibly helpful to see a professional mindset into an event vs my own. Which is wake up 2 hours before with a 1 hour and 40 minute drive, hit traffic, get there 10 minutes before tee, put shoes on, ask TD where my tee is, hear 2 minute warning, sprint there, find out I’m first on the card, grab random disc, tee off out of breath, start over par 😎
Wow! Great concept. Pre tourney, at, during and after - all good stuff. Especially liked the bag review and post round analysis. PLEASE do the post round review for each tourney. The ending with the kid pulled at the heart strings. Well done! Love your insights and openness to share yourself.
This sort of genuine video is what we really need more of. Ever since I’ve started disc golf, I knew Paul was as professional as any other athlete we grew up watching. Attention to detail, mentality on/off the course, it’s all there.
I stumbled onto frisbee golf but I am very glad I did. As someone who used to be active I had no idea this sport existed. I am also sure if I did hear of disc golf when I was active I would have scoffed at it. Thanks to videos like yours and others I have seen I really got to understand the game and why people play it. It's not just winging frisbees through the woods. Every disc has characteristics and work for certain types of situations. Not only do players have to remember what each disc does but they have to figure out which one will work best for the situation they find themselves in. There's a bit of thinking and athleticism that players need to get into sync to get the results they want/need. You are one of the best at it. I really liked this video, a little insight into what a pro, you, does during a tournament. You were one of the first disc golf pros I watched and I instantly became a fan. You didn't scream and yell and jump around in your videos or during tournaments, just good fun content. You appear so calm and laid back without being stiff, off and on the course, whether it's a fun video with your wife or brother playing other people or a tournament. We need more dogs in your videos, dogs = 100% happier viewers, lol. I do like when your wife joins you in the videos, behind the camera she is fun for certain, but it is nice to see her playing alongside you as well. If these things do not happen, I won't stop watching your videos but I won't be as happy watching them, I would only be about 75% happy not 175% happy... Thanks for the videos these past couple of years I have enjoyed them a lot.
Paul you are so inspiring! Your humble and transparent approach to educating and interacting with the dg community is amazing. Also, the honesty about your injury is really admirable. It’d be easy for you to keep that to your self, but by talking about it you are going to hopefully encourage more players to take care of their bodies! I hope to one day see you play and maybe even improve enough to play with you! Thank you.
Let's go Paul! Love hearing the insights. I'm sure some of the recent results haven't been quite what you're looking for, and I'm excited to see you bounce back strong. GOAT
This was legit. Any content where you are talking about the bag and walking us through your tournament is very welcome. This Vid had a little bit of everything.
You make being a fan of disc golf easy. Loved every interaction with you at Masters Cup and OTB. You are the most humble athlete I have ever interacted with!
I just got back from the OTB Open and the players signing at the tent was fantastic. Theres always the obnoxious fan who says too much but for the most part the pros interacted with us in a positive way. I loved this video with the tourney recap but most of all i loved the way you prepared on showed what discs you were throwing for that tourney. I would like to see more just like this with practice recaps, in the bag, and tourney recap. The little side stories and moments are great. Thanks for sharing
I love how much you appreciate the fans. You have a good heart and haven’t let being the best change you in a negative way. Keep living that good life for all of us who can’t
Seeing that kids face holding those putters..I know it sounds cheesy, but that moment is more important than winning or losing an event. Inspiring others is some next level goat stuff that not everyone is capable of. That kid can very well be the next Eagle or better. Awesome stuff. You're making moves, sir.
You, young man are one of the nicest people I have ever met. The story about that young man who got your putters is just one of many instances where you have changed someone’s life. You are also changing thousands of lives through your foundation. Keep up the good work. Wish I could come out more and watch but Texas is kicking my butt 😆. Best of luck rest of the way. Keep working hard and the results will come.
Paul is a really nice guy I got to meet him last year at the Jonesboro open and he did some field practice with my dad and talked to him!! And he also didn’t have the best round there but he gave me his putting putters that he used in the tournament to me!! Thank you Paul
We’ll put together video. The flow and content was spectacular and didn’t even feel like that long of a video. I genuinely love hearing the insight from Paul. True professional there talking about fan interactions even on your worst rounds.
I love seeing Seth get some love for helping you out with your elbow issues. He's certainly helped me out in avoiding pain for a while now. Giving your putters to the kid who watched your whole round made my day!
This was the first pro tournament I've ever been to and i met you after your insane -16. You seemed super happy and couldn't believe you were just standing right there in the walkway signing discs and taking pictures with us fans. But I bought the Hades you signed with the intention of throwing it, and now I don't know if i can anymore! Thanks for staying awesome even though you're a superstar!
Love that you have made a few of these behind the scenes, what's life like as a top pro videos. This month marks 5 years playing this great sport and I love watching Paul compete and these videos. Keep them coming!
I remember Paul in a video a few years ago spending considerable time during a practice round looking for a fellow golfers disc. He is the ultimate professional, a great champion and a great role model. I hope to get the opportunity to tell him in person at Match Play in Bailey.
Absolutely loved the format and I genuinely appreciate you sharing your perspective start to finish! Awesome video and killer editing! Thank you guys👏👏👏🔥
Im so in love with the hoodie you use in the beginning with the coloured M, but the cheapest delivery is another $63. Hope there are plans for an european shop in the future. Anyway, great video, and keep at it on the course, rooting for you champ!
Still throwing my PMB Foundation Guatemala Zone you signed at Waco! Feel like it would be smart to frame, but it makes me smile every time I see that signature before I throw an upshot. Appreciate all you do for your fans and taking time. GOAT!!!
This video is SO well made. I particularly appreciate the insights on the mental game and making adjustments. These lessons go beyond the sport. Thanks.
Paul, I had the honor to get to watch you this past weekend at the OTB in Stockton for my first professional tournament. I followed you’re card Saturday and Sunday it was an awesome experience even though it wasn’t the outcome you wanted. Watching you throw and shot shape will definitely motivate me to get better. After you’re rounds you took some pics and signed some discs for me. You are a true professional and rad dude. I want to thank you for such a memorable time and can’t wait to see you get more wins. I’ll definitely be rooting for you. Thank you Paul.
just very recently started playing and already totally hooked! what an absolutely epic sport! and can't express how much your videos both helps me improve but also fall more in love with the sport! Good luck on your next tournament! :)
Loved the video. And especially like the openness you display even when talking about a poor round. It's easy for us fans to think that you guys just don't have "off" days, but everyone does. And what a bounce back on day 4 setting the course record!! Thanks for sharing and keep them coming!
That fan engagement is amazing! Not a lot of people show younger kids that type of respect even after a rough round! Great job Paul! Always stay the same brother! You’re killing it out there
Definitely a good video! I like to see the thought process and prep for tournaments. Also it's cool to see the in the bag section. I always pay attention on Jomez of what you tee off with and see how it flies for what I want to try ang bag. I definitely can't throw it like you but at least I get to see haha So to see the rest of your bag that isn't shown for upshots and scrambles it really helps on what discs to look out for when you see shot shapes you like. I've gotten to meet you a few times here in VA and it was always a positive interaction. Either I just got an autograph as a fan or got good advice from the lessons you gave at falling creek. I take everything you taught at the seminar and what discs you throw and apply it to my game and it only makes me continue to get better. Keep the videos coming! Thanks
I love this content Paul. Yes please to more of this. Good luck out there. I would love to see more wins for you but all in all, you are a great contender win or loss. Keep it up brother. God bless!
Giving your putters to that young fan… amazing. You are a true professional and the goat in my eyes. Keep up the the great work representing this great sport!!
Mad love for the humbleness and ambassadorship that anyone can tell comes from a genuine love for the sport, but equally from caring for us fans! You could try to hide but you always keep us in the loop. As stated: mad love from us fans and please know that your level of success - though thoroughly earned - has no bearing on our admiration for your approach to and appreciation for life. Hats off to one of the truly greats!!!
Please keep doing these type of videos. It’s nice to hear how the players feel about the pro tour courses. Thank you for taking the time to do signatures for the fans.
I really like this recap and insight to your playstyle/planning around events. I would love to come out and watch but i'm to busy tryin to catch up to your skill so by the time your in the masters ill be ready ;)
Man, always love to see the personality of Paul. Tried coming out this year to throw down the mountain, but the only day I could manage was the Saturday that got cancelled. I’m going to meet you one day Paul!
