Our online intake system provides another option to apply for our services aside from applying by phone. Applicants fill out the online intake, we call to verify the information, and then refer the case to a local office to make the final determination as to whether we can help or not. Essentially, it's a way to apply for legal services 24/7 instead of calling Monday thru Thursday between 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Hope this helps!
Question. I have filed a complaint with the court for modification of custody and child support for my two children. I have clocked pleadings with the clerk which is all the official court documents. Does my evidence such as “screenshots and receipts” also have to be clocked in with the clerk? Does the opposing parties attorney need to see my evidence “screenshots and receipts” prior to the hearing or just the court documents and complaints need to be shared?
Hello and thank you for reaching out! We are not able to provide individual advice here, however we encourage you to call our statewide intake office at 1-888-346-5592 if you need assistance. We also have an option to apply online for certain legal issues at www.lawhelp.org/sc/online-intake. If you are not located in SC (where we are located), we encourage you to find the Legal Services provider closest to you by visiting www.lsc.gov and choosing the "Find Legal Aid" option in the top right corner. Eligibility for assistance through SCLS depends on your income and assets, as well as the type of legal problem you have. We cannot guarantee that every application will be accepted for legal representation. Thank you for reaching out! We hope that we will be able to help!
