These tips will help you identify good and unadulterated palm oil. I hope you find these very useful.
1. Palm oil should have a reddish yellow colour at the bottom . The top should be reddish black colour. This colour comes from the fibre and carotene elements of palm fruit.
2. It should have the smell of boiled palm fruit.
3. It shouldn't feel or taste soapy.
4. It should not be bubbling when you are cooking with it.
5. Good palm oil doesn't look sticky or lumpy. It runs smoothly when stirred. When you see particles or bubbles in it, it means that it has been mixed with a chemical or even water.
6. The smell should be pleasant and not chock, it shouldn't make the food smell unpleasant.
