Is it ok to apply to both categorial and Primary care tracks of the same IM program? Will it make a bad impression and affects the interview? Could you advise me on this?
Hey Sravani. Did you mean preliminary instead of primary care? I think every program will have their own way of approaching that. Some programs may take it in a negative sense that an applicant is applying to both categorical and preliminary tracks, think it reflects lack of confidence in their application. But I can't say for sure how programs would approach this. Otherwise, if someone is totally fine with either preliminary or categorical in a certain program, I think it's appropriate and reasonable to just say so and select both tracks
