Did you say that Blend + Penetrate + worm castings will help prevent white flies and aphids? How does that work? Does it make the plants taste nasty to sucking pests or it just helps the plants be stronger to fight off sucking plants?
Whitefly/Aphid find chitinase repellent and lots of chitinase in earthworm castings. Lots of studies and info online about chitinase effectively repelling many pests. The 3 products you mention together create a strong repellant that is good for your soil and surprisingly effective at repelling whitefly and other pests.
For a long term solution I've had good success with early Spring & Fall applications of 5cups of Blend over the root zone and then spray 8oz of our Penetrate Liquid Biotiller in about 3 gallons water over the Blend and on the tree. Also, in late Winter I spray the tree(s) w/ 2oz of our Rose&Soil Defender in 2gallons water. For a faster solution use an organic copper or sulfur dormant spray in late Winter.
I just purchased my first bag of Blend and wasn't sure if I could toss it over all my mulch. This video answered my question. Thank you John. Eager to apply Blend and get out lawn, trees and garden set for spring.
I'm happy we were able to answer your question! You can toss Blend over mulch. A good rain or watering will help it get into the soil faster, but you can water as normal. Drip doesn't do a great job of incorporating it.
