hi sara, first of all thank you for your videos they are very helpful. I have recently finished my master of architecture in Lebanon, and moved recently to London and planning to do RIBA part 1. I have 2 questions if you may help please. First one, is it mandatory to submit my last year thesis for Riba part 1? and is it obligatory to submit written work for every project? Second one, i went through your 3 projects in the link above, are these the pdfs you submitted for your part 1 exam?(since they're not a3 landscape)

Hello and welcome to the UK! So to answer your questions: no, you don't have to submit your thesis at all. But a thesis is a comprehensive project that would be ideal to submit as part of your projects. You don't have to submit written work for every project, it's just how I chose to do it. Your written work can be completely separate from your drawn work. Yes, those are the PDFs that I submitted. When I was putting together my portfolio, the guidance on sheet sizes and orientation wasn't there yet. Now, I'd recommend to use the guidance on the ARB website. I hope this helps!

@@SaraSaadouni_TAC This is really helpful for me also. I'm shifted here in London this year and I have 4 year of experience in India but here I'm planning to give ARB part 1 exam. Many times I started and then dropped the idea to give an exam because it seems no way (clueless) to begin. Your video gives motivation to me and for sure this time I will give the exam and pass it.
