DRC Dons Repair Channel, today I replaced the brake master cylinder on my 1968 Volkswagen Beetle and all the rubber hoses just to make sure it would not start leaking after I put it all back together. The gas tank is not fun to take back out. Siphoning out the gas , moving the tank out of the way. . . While you have the tank out it would be a good time to replace the gas lines and filter if there is one under the tank. After changing the Master cylinder it would not pump the air out because it was full of air. So I figured out an easy way to pressure purge the entire brake system starting at the master cylinder and then working my way back to all the brake calipers one at a time. Once you have followed my video you will be done with no pumping the brake or any of that other BS. It’s super easy and the brakes are solid after the pressure bleed. If you don’t have a compressor use a bike pump ball inflator. Just drill a small hole in the brake fluid cap so the ball inflator is a tight fit and that will work fine.
