Thank you very much for this tutorial. This has been my main struggle in podcast editing in the past 7 years. I now use RX to clean it up and put a little bit of gate wet and dry over.

Unreal! Great tutorial. I am very fresh and new in podcasting. Been doing it for just over a half a year. I have definitely been having trouble with Bleeding, but where my biggest concern in audio is when my podcasting partner and I both speak at the same exact moment, our audio quality diminishes instantly and has major echo. We speak over each other A LOT, and argue and stuff like that, which is part of our character - something we wont stop doing hahaha. That being said, why does the echo and audio sound so shitty when we both speak at the same time? How do I eliminate that? Thanks so much. I will be watching more of your videos. Super helpful. Thanks for watching! What software are you recording in to? And does this happen to the raw audio files being recorded or after you edit and export from an editor? You may want to check any ducking settings in your software. Ducking is a setting that will lower the audio of one track when the other speaks. If this is turned on for both it will lower the volume and try to mute both tracks at the same time.

hey! Im using two blue yeti x for my podcast. Severe mic bleed despite low gain :( what to do?

Yeti is notorious for being very sensitive in picking up room noise (and other guest). Make the the polar pattern is set to directional (so it's only capturing from the front side of the mic), and you may need to move as far away from the other guest as possible.

Good information to reduce bleed. However, if 2 or more talent is speaking at the same time, gating or manually editing will not solve the problem.

I am experiencing mic bleed when recording online in Riverside with a guest. Both of us are using external microphones and wired headphones. The bleed is oddly off in timing, almost like a pre-echo. What might be causing this?

Are the headphones plugging into the external microphone or the computers? And what devices are being chosen for the input / output when recording?

@@Riversidefm My headphones and microphone are run through a Scarlet 2i2 interface which is plugged into my computer. The guests all have different set ups, but I believe most are plugging in mic and headphones separately into the computer. I have had one or two using wired earbuds with built in microphone.
