Here how I made my 1.5m by 0.5m silver gelatin print from a 35mm Ilford Fp4.
To print one of the biggest I pic I have ever done in my darkroom I chose the little enlarger Durst M305 with a super sharp 50mm f4. Ilford multigrade contrast filters and fomabrom paper. Chemistry is all by ars-imago except for the paper developer that is Ilford multigrade.

Amazing image and such a fascinating process. I'm also quite surprised by the resolution you can get out of such a small film even when cropped I think some modern digital cameras would even struggle with such a large print.

It’s true! But mind that this film (fp4) has been developed with care, and shot on the nikon f100 with a good lens!

@@frankshouter of course !! Such results can only come with great attention to details at every step of the process like you've shown here.

really cool print but dude, you gotta at least get some rubber gloves, you're only hurting yourself in the long run.

You are right, but is really difficult to moove this paper with gloves. The fomabrom 112 is weak when wet

i make one meter long prints with fomabrom and the gloves are not a problem

Amazing print, would love to see it framed, and some close up shots to highlight some details. Also, aren’t the printing chemicals a bit too toxic to soak your hand in?

They are not that toxic, of course you can t swim in a pool of developer 😂 About details and framing i ll try to make a new video or set something on my website soon

I miss the tangible process, but I do not miss putting my hands in those chemicals.

firstly, use gloves unless you reallly really want some cancer. second, get some deep rectangular flower pots for developing rolls

how long was the development time to avoid uneven development when using rolled paper?
@frankshouter
@frankshouter 8 месяцев назад
This is a good question, depends, you see it when you do it. The time is relative, the main thing is the smoothness of the rolling in the liquid

That is so cool! Really loved the video, and made me wonder how many chemicals are in all our photos. Really nice work.

There are, but not that much. Also they are less and less toxic if you compare with the past
