This video is a primer on what I listen for when producing vocals. This sets up tomorrow's video where I dig into Revoice Pro 5 to fix the issues in my vocal performance.
When I'm recording a vocalist I listen for Timing, Tone, Intonation, and X factor. These ideas are discussed and demonstrated along with before and after examples.

I'm really glad you touched on the importance of timing and pocket for vocals. That's probably the aspect I see overlooked the most often with the tracks I receive.

Cool video, I wasn't aware of Revoice Pro. You said in the video that you used the same mic that you're speaking into for the singing..... What mic is that? It has a very good tone, -no crazy mid push and no excessive highs. Great channel - Thanks!

It's a prototype designed by a friend of mine. Kinda a 251 sounding design.

i quite like the raw vocals to be honest, they remind me a little of Biff Roses track - "Spaced out / I've got you covered"

I like the raws in a couple spots... but for the most part all I can hear is the mistakes

The subtle changes you did made a big difference, but i'm impressed by the the general quality of the starting point. If these were my own raw vocals i'd be tempted to completely over process them and stamp out all the original character before seeing this video.@@WeissAdvice
