I was looking online before I went out and purchased a new thermostat to see if there was a way to have auto changeover on the model I already have that is featured in this video.. (This is of course after trying to find this functionality on my own with no success). So you saved me a good amount of money AND time by posting this video, and I really appreciate it.
My thermostat seems stuck in default settings even after programming it and pressing DONE. It heats at 68 degrees. I want 70 degrees. I always have to override it with HOLD button. What is wrong?
3:40 That dual control setting worked, and now I don't have to fool around with the temperature buttons anymore because it is all automatic. I really appreciate your help sir. Now I have a 'care-free' temperature schedule that works all on it's own. Fantastic !
@@alexanderservices919 I learned that you need to hold both buttons and wait a few seconds for the advanced programming mode to appear. It finally did and all's well at my house.
Good stuff. I'd only mention that if you have a heat pump, you may want to avoid huge swings between home and away...else you'll force your aux heat to kick in to make up the difference, and you could be paying a higher energy bill $$$. The max difference I'd recommend is 2 degs difference.
Great video Frank. Could you explain what the Temperature Offset setting is used for and how to set it up? I contacted Honeywell asking if my TH6000 had a swing setting. They replied that the TH6000 did not have a swing setting. I downloaded the installation manual and I found a setting called "Temperature Offset". Is this the same as a swing setting? My offset was set to 0. I would like my cooling cycle to stop after it reaches 1 degree less than what the thermostat is set to. Would that be a -2 for the offset?
I've had this thermostat for about 4 months and STILL cannot get the programmable part of this thermostat to work. I have inputted everything correctly and it will not kick on in the morning before everyone wakes up. I have called Honeywell 5 times and they are useless. What to do? BTW. I only have Wake scheduled and the rest are all cancelled, it is all we need. Do all schedules (Wake, Leave, etc.) have to be set in order for it to work?
I set my wake time for 5:30am but due to the load clicking that wakes me up, I changed it after a week, to 6:15am. It is still coming on at 5:30am, even though when I go to check the schedule, it displays a wake time of 6:15. Why would it be reverting back to the old setting? Is there a way to fix that? Even after the power went out over the weekend and I had to set the time again, it is mysteriously turning on at 5:30am still.
Do you do one on one tutorial session on the phone or Zoom? I want it to turn on at 5:30 am and then when I get up, I want to manually adjust it. It is off at night
Great video ty I hv the same thermostat except it’s just for heating, This prob I’ve been hving for few wks now, I’ll hv my heat set on 70 degrees & wthin half hr or less the heat temp on gauge is at 75 was is my thermostat changing the temp on it’s own? Plz help!!! I just don’t understand wht causing the temp to change on it’s own Ty again
First of all, thanks for the video, it was extremely helpful. Mine however has a very loud clicking sound when it comes on and off, do you know of any way to change this? or could this be a problem? I've only had it for about two years and I don't remember the sound being this loud before.
Thanks Frank! This has helped me immensely, but I do need to find out what each of the function numbers meas because I goofed up and now I have a strong fan but no heat. Ah, I'm an amateur. Appreciate you help, what do the advance setting numbers refer to? Thank you.
great video. the only problem I have is that my thermostat will only let me program temps between 40 and 70 degrees. I can't go above 70 degrees for heating. I don't have the manual. any advice?
Is there any option to leave the backlit display on all the time? My furnace powers the thermostat and most of the time I can't read the display unless I press a button to activate the back lighting.
My back light does not come on when I touch a button. (It used to for about 4yrs) I can see the temperature numbers & everything else but at night I can not see anything without a flashlight. Do you know what I need to do to make the light work?
I don't know if you answer these this old but I don't see a "set date/schedule" on mine...it has auto enabled...any ideas on how to get it to show this?
Hi great video, is there a way to cancel a program once set. Or do I just have to set a new program? And what's best to have the fan at the ON position or auto?
had a Amana ASZ160601LA heat pump system installed with the focuspro 6000 thermostat...installer wasn't sure if this thermostat was correct/compatible for the 2stage heat pump that was installed...could you state an opinion regarding this? thanks for your videos and any help concerning this matter!
Installed new router. When I connected my wifi the thermostat went wacky! The heater blower will not turn off unless I remove the device from the wall. The heater runs when the system is off. Only way I can get the unit to work properly was to do a reset for wifi but don't actually connect to wifi. I think the unit needs a hard computer reset. Do you know how to do that?
hi Frank, thank you for the video. i have rth 6450 model which is very simillar like yours. but after we set up the schedulle, how do we run the schedulle?
I have my thermostat set to come on at 7:00am at 72 degrees. It clicks on at 4:00am and is on for 3 hours until it gets from 62 degrees to 72 degrees. I have tried to set it up for 10:am and it still clicks on at 6:00am. What am I doing wrong? I think the manual said it anticipates - but really??? 3 - 4 hours???
So if I set my cool temp at 75 and press hold and put it on Auto when my house reaches that temperature will my AC automatically cut off and also if I leave it at that same temperature all day and all night on auto will it run up my electricity bill
What if you have your thermostat set the way ya want it to;but you want slightly adjust the ride side temperature of the unit for cooling to a lower temperature? Do ya just hit the down temperature arrow? and if ya hit that down arrow once it's been programmed;will that cut the whole AC unit off;and then you have to reprogram? It has been set for me;and we found that the cooling inside temp is a little too warm for the new ac unit that we just had put in? If ya have the answer to these questions;then please don't hesitate to message me. Thanks.
I don't use the program schedule function. I am home all the time and change the temperature as needed. How do I use the fan only option to circulate air when I don't need heat or cooling? I can't find an answer in my manual or among the questions asked here. Thank you for your expert help.
Mine is stuck at 75 and im trying to change it to 65. I reworked the entire schedule to fit this and i even tried fan on and temporary and yet the unit outside is doing nothing, just crickets -_- I should also add that its a brand new unit out back and this is a recent problem it seemed to be fine up till now
@@alexanderservices919 I have the manual and followed the instructions. I can get to the set time menu but it will not respond to change the time. Ughhhh. Technology isn’t for old people.
I have been struggling to get my thermostat to circulate fan mode. I want my fan to turn on intermittently to help with air circulation even if my heater or AC is off, but I can't find the setting on my thermostat. I've looked through the system settings and no luck. I swear I saw the feature using the app on my phone, but now I can't find it. Do you know how to turn this feature on?
Question I have the same one and in the middle of the night it goes down to 60 degrees then it frezzes the unit up and want cool the house how do I completly get rid of the preset scheldue thats already programed in?
Frank Alexander..Ok thanks for the information..So if its set at 60 degrees that dosent cause it to freeze up? I forgot to say something else when I try to reset the schedule it says in recovery?
Thx for quick response Frank. I watched grayfuranceguy's video he lead me to believe there was a setting for it. Thx for clarification. I'm at about 6 cycles/hr that seems high, but I do have a high speed heat gain here in SC.
You are all saying the same thing this is my problem my thermostat heat comes earlier than the set time HOW do l set it so it comes on exactly at the set time say maybe 6:00am.
Programming feature not working. Talked to Honeywell several times and tried 3 different models of Honeywell thermostats. None of them worked with the programming. We currently have this model. Last Honeywell rep I spoke to suggested resetting the breaker. I doubt this will work. We have a two wire, red and white. Honeywell felt it had nothing to do with wiring when I questioned that area. What should I do? Only Wake is set and all other intervals are cancelled. We only need Wake. We only have heat, no cool, hence two wire.
These houses were built in the 50's... It was heat only (gas furnace) no fan, no cool, no auto etc. So heat runs off a two wire. Additional wires would have to be installed to get cool, etc. We just got the furnace replaced about a month ago and also got a new thermostat, the newly designed and implemented furnace has heat and cool capabilities. Folks don't want cool, not needed I guess. So, additional wires would be needed for that.
Apparently you can set it to heat and cool on its own. But his initial presentation is incorrect. You actually have to pull tghe unit OFF the wall and get a special code on the back of the unit. You HAVE to use that code to do all what he doing to work right. This is total nonsense to have to do this!
Temporary is a user setting. Check the user guide. It has nothing to do with the set up settings. If it isn't cooling, it could be a problem with the air conditioner.
I have a 2heat/1cool heat pump. When the AC kicks on the blower motor runs fine but as soon as the star calls for the AC to cycle off the blower motor instantly turns off instead of running for a minute or half a mixture. Where in the programming is it able to be set for the motor on the blower to run longer after the stat calls for it to shut off? Thanks
