I love watching your videos. They do improve my English pronunciation, and your ways of teaching are easy to follow and understand. I used to study English Phonetics, but it's quite hard for me LOL. Anyway, could you make a video about other theoretical concepts in English Linguistics like Pragmatics? If possible, it would be great.
the best teacher!!! I've been watching your videos for 3 days and i'm really enjoying it. Your videos are short, very helpful, simple and interesting. The way you explain things is amazing and how you throw an information here and there while you're explaining leaves me fascinated. Thanks a lot for your diligence and generosity. Keep it up!
I'm in love with this channel. I'm studying english about 1 year. In february I had an opportunity to make a travel to London, it was the best thing eveeer. I don't know if you're from London but you accent is very similar and I love it. One day I hope be really fluent in english. I'm from Brazil :)
I'm from Thailand. I studied the mixed of British and American English in primary school, but in the uni I study British English from Oxford textbooks. I love British English.
Thanks very much for your lovely teaching! The "sixth" is really a hard one! In the future, I think it would be lovely if I could possibly learn how native speakers use "here you go", "there you are", "here we go", "there you go", "here i come" ......... I heard them all the time but it seems no one can really explain to me what they are in a systematic way. Please help!
I think you are simply the best teacher on youtube. You're the best! Your explanation is very, very thouroughly done. I would kindly ask you to do a lesson or a video about does vs. is and the negative doesn't vs. isn't. Albert from Tel Aviv
Spanish is my mother tongue, but I was also raised with that American accent and UK has always been my favourite country, Idk want to know how darn odd my accent will end up but at least I found the best teacher for this
"work"and"walk"are the "words" that we Japanese find hard to copy, really!! we basically learn 100% American English at school in Japan, and one of the things I think are sad is if someone tries to speak English with British pronunciation, he/she is not a native speaker. I feel comfortable with British pronunciation since it's kind of close to Japanese intonation.
Hi Elliott, thank you for making this video. I'm so grateful to find your channel because I want to improve my pronunciation and start learning British accent.
Usted es una motivación para mí, la manera como pronuncia las palabras me encanta, usted tiene una voz genia! mi voz es un poco dulce pues por ser latina no me sale también el acento al pronunciar las palabras :) seguro logro tener una mejor pronunciación viendo sus videos más habitualmete, reciba porfavor un abrazo fuerte lleno de energía.
I find difficult to say the r at the end of some words, because if the next word begins with a vowel you have to curl your tongue (like american english). And another thing I struggle doing is the A sound in some words, for example in "back", british people tend to pronounce the A almost in a nasal way
American here. Hello. Just wanted to say thanks for informing me of the distinction between 'old-fashioned' sounding British English and modern - and thank you for changing from saying the word 'shed-ule' to 'sked-ule' :) Your pronunciations on all the words here are just like i say them - with the exception of the word Girl. You put that 'wuuh' sound in the word Girl. I find it very hard to say it your way. I pronounce girl like this - 'gurl' :) Don't y'all also pronounce the word 'well' the same way as you do 'girl'? Regardless, over the years in watching movies, it has become much easier to understand British actors and i don't even have to turn on subtitles any longer! lol Cheers
Thank you for your videos. I’ve subscribed to your channel because I’m doing a TEFL course at the moment and I want to work more on my pronunciation. I find your tips ever so helpful. 👍
Yes, most of my students struggle with the 'th' sound. ENTREPRENEUR is indeed a difficult one. Here are some words that they find it difficult to pronounce: Pituitary, Respiratory, World, Pursuit, Risks, Tasks, Shifts, Susceptible, Periphery, Cerebrum, Diagnosis.... Anyway, you are really the best! Thanks.
Dear Elliott, I have a question about the word "towards". I've heard people saying both towaaards with the stess on the last syllable and tooowards with the stress on the o. Which one is actually correct and more common in British English? Btw, your lessons are adorable. I spent my whole evening watching them and preparing for CPE skeaking :)
His instructions are very commendable. I salute you Sir. As to mind our r's & l's, by 4:08 my American ear has already heard him slur off his r's & l's in his normal speech several times. Sorry it's just that the British accent has been so ingrained into the Brit's speech that it's impossible to negate & for many Americans sometimes so thick to understand rather or not they are speaking English, but then there are Americans we have the same problem with.
Hi Elliott. Beautiful video. Could you please make a video on the glottal stop comparing how Brits and Americans pronounce it? I think this is more noticeable in American pronunciation when they say words such as button, cotton, written, mountain since you Brits pronounce the T in those words whereas they would use a glottal T. I know Brits use the glottal stop but the use may differ in certain words. I'd be delighted to watch such a video. Thanks a lot. I'll look forward for it
thank you for your useful videos ,we want videoes on the difference between `` were and where and how to pronounce words end with r and after this word there is a word starts with a vowel sound
Article. I'm still having trouble to understand when to use a, the and no article. Thanks for your video. Your accent is so good to my ears and it helps me a lot!
I repeat each and every word....I particularly like the way u say...... pronunciation' as a word. I find myself repeating. Just to polish my English to be as sweet as British English.

I like your British accent. Please please can you make a vedio of some random difficult and long English words. For example you did already Entrepreneur. Can you do concierge or other similar heavy English words that we can still use is everyday conversations. Not really sure if you get what I'm trying to ask... I hope you do though...
