We're many around to be fan of her voice. This is a very welcome "face reveal" and I guess we'll be quite a number to appreciate to see her more often :)
I always wanted to know the face of the voice that we are always hearing ! You are beautiful! I´m from Germany and we always had to write with a fountain pen until 8 or 9th grade!
I remember the first "brand war" I've witnessed was schoolyard discussions about whether lamy or pelikan made the better fountain pens. And looking back I'm glad we learned writing with fountain pens, I like to imagine it's played a part in me keeping my handwriting neat even twenty years later.
HAH. People complained a few video's back that JetPens was pronouncing Faber-Castell wrong, so now they brought in an actual German speaker to show the comment section who was right and who was wrong.
Actually Staedtler is not pronounced "Steeedler" where they are located but more like "Städttler". But that's a minor "complaint" and may vary with different dialects in Germany anyway. :)
Eily Bergin It was also pronounced somewhere between ä and e. Kind of edgy... As you said. This one will vary a lot. It depends on what you want to emphasize. Is it really turning the ae into an ä or just leave it like a e and almost leave the a out. I think their name is up for debate. Though I'm more in the "ä" camp.
Loved meeting Antonia!!! Found myself trying to pronounce along with her, but it was not easy wrapping my tongue around some of the words. Would love to see Antonia and your Japanese speaking colleague who did the Japanese terms video in other videos. Thanks, Jet Pens!!!
Finally I can learn how to say Leuchtturm. (Sorry, I gave up on how to say the 1917 part. I don't own this journal either. LOL) Although I'll probably still use Jenn's (from Jenn Im) version "lekt-term" once in a while since it sounds so funny and cute.
I really appreciate that her German words are so well pronounced even though she has an American accent when speaking normally 👏🏻 Really speaks to the commitment she put into fluency.

Speaking German is not speaking _abnormally_ (-_-) But yes, she does switch back and forth between languages easily.
Wow, I'm so glad to have stumbled upon this video. I noticed that your videos have proper pronunciation of German and Japanese terms and now I know why. It's so good that you put such effort into getting this right. I love the culture of your company!
I was proper gobsmacked when I found out the bairns over there learn to write with fountain pens! Too bad it's not that way where I'm from. On another note, Antonia is ADORABLE.
Nice to finally see the person behind the voice! The switch between English and German just sounded so seamless and smooth, love it.. Hope you guys can make more videos with stationery terms like this!
Wow... I always wondered how "the girl behind the voice of JetPens" looked like haha. She's really pretty :3 and her voice too. The only brand missing was "stabilo", I think haha xD Great video!
Thank you so much for doing this. People on my channel complain all the time about my pronunciation of German names, when I am actually pronouncing the majority of them correctly. I learned German in school and I stuck to my guns. ;)
In a placr where everybody's wrong, it is wrong to be right. I m from India, and realised people will consider you mad if you pronounce Faber Castell correctly!
Surprised by 2 facts hre! 1)we actually get to e meet the voice person behind all lovely jetpens video! 2)so many of e more common brand ive heard frm young are actually frm germany! Thank you for e wonderful video!
I love that you did this, very helpful. If Jetpens does future video's on pronunciation it would be more helpful if you had the background music at a lower volume so there is a bigger gap between the speakers voice and the music.
I was a bit worried that this was going to be awful (like most any English-language video on German words) but I'm so glad to actually see/hear this properly. Nice job Antonia :)
I lived in Germany a significant portion of my adult life. I learned to speak it while I was there. I had fun with the language but I have forgotten a lot. Thanks for the refresher. :)
I love the way German sounds. It is beautiful language I was obsessed with it since I was a child and really wanted to study it when I was a kid but school only wants us to learn English. I was so excited to catch on it in collage, unfortunately the good teacher we had left, she was expecting a baby and they gave us the teacher who couldn't teach.
I found Kum stationary at Shoppers Drug Mart during their back-to-school sales a few years ago. I was super impressed with the quality of their erasers and sharpeners. Their pencils are great, too. Staedtler is the only brand, as far as I've witnessed, that comes close in quality.
I love your voice and you're adorable. Thanks for doing this video, this is something I've always wondered about, especially Leuchtturm1917. Also Pelikan was a surprise.
Japan and Germany have always been close regarding design, technology, etc. Before the ww2 it was typical for Japanese engineers to go to Germany to study or learning techniques. It’s kind of cool to see these countries in a “friendly” competition in the stationary market.
Having that good German and accent-less English is something I've rarely seen. Your German pronunciation is better than my aunt's and her German accent is still quite thick but she's been living here in the US for the last 20 years. Goes to show even your native language can get rusty if you don't use it regularly. I just bought some Staedtler 4H-7H sketching pencils from vou and I have a huge store of Pelikan bottled inks that use to ink and color my drawings.
Großartig! 😁 Solche Videos machen wirklich Sinn, wenn "Muttersprachler" das ganze sprechen. Klingt für mich zumindest so. (Great! Such Viedos realy make sense, if a native speaker do the job. At least, it sounds like that for me.) 👌👌
Well, my German pronunciation far exceeded my Japanese which was very close to an utter failure. Perhaps the two years of German I took in High School some two or three hundred years ago lingered long enough to help me pass this test, but German will be the end of the success story. Rhetorical question: are all of your colleagues as beautiful as Antonia and your Japanese speaker? Nice! My sincere compliments to both colleagues ... and also to Jet Pens for all your videos.
Oh heck, nice to meet yo face!! Also I’m visiting Germany (Nuremberg) this December, should I get some stationary ooo. P.S. learning to write using fountain pens is wild, that’s amazing
You should! Nuremberg is the home of Stabilo, Faber-Castell, Staedtler and Lyra as it was the center of pencil production since the middle ages. :) There is a very nice Staedtler flagship store right next to "Lorenzkirche" (St. Lawrence), for example. You can not miss it. Called Staedtler Welt - Staedtler world. Stationery Heaven. :)
Fascinating! Now I know that I've been pronouncing lots of my favourite stationery brands wrong over the years. I used to (until very recently) work in a shop selling stationery too, oops! 😊
