I think it's okay to use pressurized water, as long as it's sprayed from inside to outside(from clean side of filter). The no pressured water rule is to prevent people from spraying water from the wrong side of the filter, pushing dirt in deeper.
You're actually supposed to let it naturally air dry both after cleaning and treating with oil. If you don't you will gum up the maf sensor and throttle response won't be your only problem.
Here’s a video of K&N testing their oil on MAS and they claim the sensor still worked properly. They also did several other test scenarios. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gE6moItrZNg.html
Another thing is you're only supposed to spray one side and that's the side that sucks in the air not the side of the filter that faces the throttle body for the same reasons that you can damage your air flow sensor oil will easily go through and possibly cover your mass airflow sensor
1. You aren't supposed to let the degreaser dry after applying, 10min max is recommended before since. 2. You aren't supposed to use a high pressure hose.
I would recommend that your swap the mass air flow sensor if your car is having some problems going up hill crankshaft position sensor wouldnt hurt as well
@@TheGerbsteve _"I can't handle Criticism therefore go away."_ I can already see what it's like to socialize with you in-person is like. Don't like what I said? Ban me from your channel so I won't have to see your channel on my search list. That's the only thing you're good at, Telling people to go away. Yeah sure just keep the video up instead of revising it so other unaware people will ruin their filter and engines what a *Genius Move.*
you only want the oil on the one side the dirt passes through, the side which air goes into your manifold should be dry to Minimize oil into the manifold, I go as far as making sure the one side is dry, small amounts of oil runoff from the one side will get sucked onto the other side anyways, which is what you want on that side, less. so less is more.
I don't know if using pressure air is the best to clean the filter, you can broke the cotton and it's dangerous to the motor. Anyway it looks cleaner than other vídeos hahaha
you cannot use compressed air to dry that filter, it will be damaged the moment its hit by string water jet or compressed air. Please do your engine a favour and buy a new filter.... and oh, please RTFM next time.
If your air filter is sorry enough to cause hesitation, you're about 5-6 years overdue to clean it, and at that point, it makes more sense to simply replace it. Let's not even address the fact that your cleaning method is all wrong.
You forgot to tell people that the oil needs to dry for at least 20 minutes and not to drench it in the oil because it could get in the car and mess stuff up. That’s the only reason why I gave you a thumbs down
The oil is proven to not affect MAF sensors, look it up. What’s your meaning of drench because I don’t think we drenched his. His car is still running strong 💪🏼. Thanks for the view
I dont use any aftermarket air intakes sence most dont actually pull cold air that most likely pull hot air from engine bay. I when back to stock because it pulled cool from fender for my 1998 gmc k1500 im selling my k&n. :-)
I hear that. I feel like if you get a true cold air though, like relocate down to wheel fender, you may see gains. What’s your opinion on these k&n drop in filters??
@@TheGerbsteve I think there drop in air filters are great the only problem ive had with there filters is filter oil getting on the mas air flow sensor and haveing to cleaning them maybe price but if file ever goes bad or filter material goes k&n will replace it for free speaking a replacement k&n sent me a hole new unit with everything :-) k&n has great customer service.
Great to know! I will be light on the oil. And i love their products honestly, super high quality. I run their oil filters a lot, but just got my k&n drop in filter for my 07 civic si, so we will see how that does
If your stupid enough to leave a Air filter in vehicle for nine years then you should probably NOT make self help videos. Especially when they are for the most part easy enough to remove and especially reusable/washable one. If it was me I wouldn’t admit the nine year part.
Another dumb comment. K&N say they only need cleaning every 50,000 miles. Maybe he simply doesn't drive this vehicle very much. Would I run my car that long without cleaning? Probably not - but some people aren't very mechanically minded and you know what? THAT'S OKAY! It doesn't make him 'stupid' as you called him, if he was just following the manufacturer's instructions. You're another useless internet bully. Get a life.
It’s not a matter of mechanically minded especially with the days of Y/T and some sort of vehicle help video almost every seventeen feet. As for bullying it is called life and sometimes it is tough. Definitely wouldn’t use pressure hose, but that’s another of life’s lessons that can be taught the hard way. He got the work done and now that he sees how easy it can be maybe the original poster will clean and dry more often!
I see this all the time from people probably in the US. Here a basic K&N is at least $100 and that's just the filter. Then I gotta spend nearly another $30 on the cleaner/oil. Why are people SO against cleaning and reusing. He's had the thing in his car for 9 years - he's obviously not someone that buys a brand new car every 3 years! Most people aren't. Such a useless comment. "Buy a new one". Ugh,.
nick griffo And you drive what? Charger R/T lol? My si would eat that turd 😂.... Bet you’ve lost to a bunch of Honda’s, should of bout an srt8 you want to be muscle car guy 🤙🏼
