Hope you enjoyed this one and found it useful! I know how intimidating deadlifts can be especially for beginners. But set your ego aside, take your time to learn the proper form, and you'll master the deadlift in no time. Let me know in the comments below what other exercises you're struggling with and I'll cover that next! 👇
I’m just starting adding Deadlift on my routine. This came in a perfect time! Looking Forward to using Beauty Betty for Arms and Abs Workout on the Future!
Dude this is easily the greatest deadlift technique video of all time..I've watched it like 5 times in a row just appreciating how the movement is broken down so perfectly to the letter
Even though you've done a dozen videos on deadlifts, each one is valuable and serves as a periodic reminder to pay attention to your form. This breakdown is excellent
This was OUTSTANDING!!!!! I’ve been lifting weights on and off for 30+ years and never had this explained so thoroughly and with easy to understand tips. I just deadlifted more than I ever have and didn’t hurt my lower back for the first time. THANK YOU!!!!!!🙏🏾 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Bro I started watching you like 2 years ago and still use your Push, Pull, Legs split. But it’s crazy to see how far you’ve come with editing. These skeletal animations are next level.
For someone with sensory issues, your videos really help! They explain every single motion in a really detailed manner. I love your videos! Thank you and keep 'em coming! 💪🏽
So many find it so complicated. It’s actually explained very well with visuals .. He just gave all the points we must Take note to avoid injury .. what is the complication here? Do with him slowly and you will know how many places you make mistakes and injure yourself. He is only helping you in the best possible way with the correct graphics rather than just talking … with visuals we can understand well. He has taken the pains to put this together and explain clearly .. Practice step one when picking up objects till you master well .. then proceed to step 2 and practice that for few weeks… then go to two 3 and so on ….
You probably heard this a lot but I wanna say it too: The way you add animations to the exercises helps a lot to make us understand what we exactly have to do. Thank you so much for that! Keep up the good work.
Your videos are honestly the BEST I have seen on RU-vid. Thank you for providing amazing free content fir us to learn. Who ever is editing, animating, planning, etc - major props!
Hit the deadlift after almost 1 year in the gym…was always too scared of injuring myself. After watching this video I could actually do it in a much better form (approx 60-70% accuracy). Only getting stronger from here…thanks for the much needed knowledge @jeremy . You earned a subscriber today💯
Congratulations with 5m bro! You are a great motivator and really deserve it! Thanks to you I also started filming home workouts with no equipment, hope one day to be able to help people like you helped me 💪
As someone’s who’s riddled with anxiety and is terrified to ask people at the gym for tips for advice, this is the most genuinely informative video I’ve found regarding this. Thank you!!❤
As someone who teaches beginners lifting movements, this is gold! they help so much for visualizing and therefore for visual learners. thank you for putting so much effort in your videos
This is a great illustration of how to maintain proper form while performing deadlifts. After watching this video I spent an hour on deadlifts and felt no discomfort. I called it at 255 lbs for the day. I feel great! 💪🏾
Form is so important and videos like these show why. Thank you and God Bless you sir. Im new to deadlifts and i cant tell you how much i appreciate this
What a great video demonstrating proper form! I especially like how you provided useful examples (closing door w/butt when holding groceries; oranges; hooks). I’m a visual learner, so this was awesome! I’ll keep this in mind - gracias! 🙌🏼 2:28
I injured myself pretty badly (about 3 months ago), although I have a lifting experience of about 6 years. I think I lost my form trying to exceed my PR (380 pounds) - ego-lifting right there. Now I can't even lift half of that weight. Lesson learnt - No ego lifting no matter how much experience you have in lifting. I came here to see if I was doing anything wrong (hopefully, all these years I was right except for the above lift). I'll implement these techniques to get back in form. Excellent video right there.
Jeremy, thank you for teaching us proper form. I have low back pain and I really would like to incorporate this exercise into my routine. Truly appreciate it! Love from California 🙏
I’m a complete newbie who just tried weight lifting for my first time today. I really appreciate your thoroughness on how to achieve good form for body safety and so other seasoned gym mates can see I’m trying my best to start from an informed place. A deadlift seems so scary to me, but I conquered my first fear of going to the weights today, I think I’ll try a deadlift next! Unless you or anyone else thinks that might be ill-advised!! Thank you again!’

Seriously, there are so many steps and different factors within each step to remember. This is why i've always been a bit afraid to go too heavy deadlifting. I actually prefer to meet someone who knows how to do them properly and teach me in person. Especially if they can look at my form from the side.
Mother of God! I'm not saying you are wrong about anything in this video AT ALL. But this is absolutely the most complicated explanation of a deadlift I think I've ever seen
Thank you for actually describing what it means to activate certain muscles. Most videos say things like "activate your core" when, as an absolute beginner, that means nothing to me because i have no idea what that actually means. Its really hard to find videos that explain things in a way that makes sense to people that have 0 idea what they're doing
I’ve never been good at lifting/ lifted through the pain. Today I watched ur video on how to bench press properly. Not only did I not hurt myself but I actually was able to lift more than I thought I could! Thanks 🙏🏾
Great video! After working out (heavy) in my early 20s, I messed up my back and haven't been able to train for almost 10 years! I have come back to the gym and beaten my ego to not just lift weights because I can. Now I'm super focused on form and execution. I'm weak and my muscles are short and joints have limited mobilisation... This helps a lot. Would you mind do a similair video for a bend over row and lat pull? I will try and search through your videos but if not... A lower body/lower back mobilisation improvement(anckles and up to where the illipsoas ends) video to execute the deadlift and squad better would be nice. Greetings, A big fan from the Netherlands
I'm going to implement these tips! Injured myself pretty badly last year doing DL and still sore. Didn't avoid coming back to them but have been lifting pretty light. Hopefully these tips help me regain my strength. Can you do a similar vid for squats?
This videos are so easy to understand. You explained them so well! I struggle to feel my chest during bench press so I hope there's a video for that too.
Same. I'm a female though and I've been trying bench press for two weeks, but I also don't really feel it in my chest either so wondering if I'm doing it correctly
wow your videos have improved so significantly that i feel the need to leave a comment, they were great and super enjoyable to begin with, and now you are putting EVEN more effort into them, just wow
Yea if you haven't done a proper deadlift before it's not the time to play hero with the weight. I personally practice deadlift form with no weight, ten pound and 20 pound weights. One day a week I try with a bar but my deadlift is still only barely higher than my bench. Do the same thing, take it slow while you learn good form. Deadlifts are one of the most important compound exercises we have access to. It can be done safely and it's mostly people who take no precautions and have no concerns that over exert themselves and end up injured. The fact that you're concerned about injury indicates your likely to take necessary precaution to not get injured.
This is hands down the best explanation I've ever heard!!!! Thank you so much for breaking it down step by step and making each explanation slow, easy to understand and remember 🙌🏽🙌🏽
I’m turning 60 in February and am not giving up on deadlifts. This will help. Best video I’ve seen yet . Trying to stay in the 1000lb club with bench squat and dead’s. It’s difficult
INCREDIBLE VIDEO. Best exercise form demo video format I've ever seen - visuals were so insightful and innovative. You're doing a great service for the workout community. Thanks for this content!
Im just starting my fitness journy after a lifetime of being unfit at 35. This information has been really inspiring and kudos to the amazing way you present the information. Thank you from Canada!
This is so great! Thanks a lot! The proper technique of these difficult exercises is very important, because so many people don’t do them correctly and end up seriously injuring themselves. A back injury is one of the worst things that can happen to you. Especially, when you are young and full of energy and aspirations. Be careful! It’s just not worth it.
Awesome video. Everything is near perfect: the explanation, the effects editing, the angles of the camera. Start here if you want to learn how to deadlift.
I’ve been working out for years but, always strayed away from deadlifts. This new program calls for them so, this video has been very helpful. I’ll practice my form with lighter weights first. Thanks.
If this video doesn’t get people to deadlift I do not know what will. 💪 A lot of effort for those beautiful visuals that come together to create an easy to follow and rational process to working that bar. Way to go, Jeremy! 🙏
I think some people just can't deadlift, I watched this but my body just won't come to the party., I spent soo long in the gym in the mirror with light bar amber this video with no luck.
Fantastic video. I've been working out most of my life and have NEVER done deadlifts. Partly due to a bad back. But realizing it would actually help my back to strengthen my core....I want to start deadlifting. This video gave so much good info that my apprehension is all but gone. Obviously I'll start with very low weights and build strength first...but the technique was always what worried me....I had no idea how to perform this lift and was nervous to try without knowing. Thank you!
I am planning to begin lifting soon, as a 33 yo mom with no experience this is very educational. I'm actually starting without any weights and than only the bar at first in the gym. Form is everything, that is very clear to me.
Best and most concise deadlifting video I've found, thank you! As for finding foot placement, the best advice I ever received was to look up at the ceiling and prepare to jump up as high as you can to reach it. Just before you jump look at your foot placement, this is where your body subconsciously feels the most powerful. I use this on my deadlift set up every time.
The best Deadlift instruction video. Excellent details and easy to understand visual cues. Suggestions for other exercises -Barbell Squat, Bench Press, Pull down for beginners
Wow this, video deserves to be be watched several times. Excellent information and even greater editing; Outstanding. Congrats for those 5M subscribers.
Okay, this was the BEST and the easiest deadlift explanation video I have seen. As expected from Jeremy. Thank you, your videos are amazing, useful and complete, they have been such a huge help for me, I hope you're doing very well, brother! Congrats on 5 million subscribers!!!
