Hey just want to point out, the negative should not be connected to the battery’s negative end as per the instruction image shows (the big sticker with a warning sign on the metal/plastic bar on top of the battery), it should be connected to a ‘pole’ a bit more towards the right side from the battery.
Yes you are exactly right, but who doesn't wanna see a Porsche burst into flames and my face to melt off. Thanks for watching. Great point. I will definitely do that from now on. Thanks
Damn it i really wish i saw your video 1st. I saw a dealer video i cancelled the job he said you should'nt hook the pack directly you'll blow the computer bs. THANKS
Great information. Crazy camera work. I'm drunk dizzy. However, Porsche wants you to use the negative ground silver post that is sticking up, one foot off to the right, on the driver side. Too bad.
Why go through all this ? .. IF you had a LithiumMoto lithium battery the 2ndStart auto jump feature is so easy, just push the key fob button , and u have instant power !
Thank you for making the video. I also do roadside assistance and I watch your video on my way to jumpstart a 2020 Porsche 911, I wanted to make sure I knew where everything was before I got there. It was helpful I was also at road kill nights 2020. If you saw David Freiburger and Mike Finnegan taking possession of their dodge duster in the evening then you saw me there. I was one that drove the car down the dragstrip and presented it to them. Was a good time! Thank you for making the video.
I did this on a 992 and it worked! BUT - it's throwing tons of error codes, check engine light, tire pressure, transmission, etc.. and key fob isn't working to lock it. Should I drive it and cycle it a few times? Can I reset all the error codes without going to the dealer?
Thanks so much. The UK cold snap has drained my 996's battery and I couldn't open the bonnet (or find the release wire under the wheel arch) so this is (a) going to save my nails and (b) going to be useful when I teach my daughter. I'm buying that wonderful piece of kit.
Hooked up the Jump Starter per the video and pressed hood release .....nothing. I inserted the key and tried again....same result. Any additional suggestions before I get the car towed?
Have a good 12 volt battery source to open the bonnet, not a jump starter. Make sure the connections are good the ground should be on the door catch not a painted nut on the door hinge. Before jump starting make sure it is a lead acid battery and try and avoid putting the clamps directly onto the dead battery esp, the negative side.
Thanks for the vid! Was charging it with the Porsche cigarette lighter charger for 2 days and no juice. After watching this had my 2002 911 up and running again!! One issue tho... Porsche owner pronouncing it Poorsh?? Come on! It's "Poor-Sha" my man!!
This Owner does NOT PAY HIS CONTRACTOR'S WITH FALSE HOPES OF PAY AFTER 2 WEEKS OF RUNNING SOMEONE ELSE GAS SOMEONE INSURANCE SOMEONE ELSE PHONE SERVICE ...STAY AWAY UNPROFESSIONAL IN MANY WAYS ..VERY AGGRESSIVE BUT GOT SOMETHING FOR THIS ANGRY COWARD ROBING HIS OWN TECHS WHO HELP AND PROVIDE AWARD WINNING SERVICE ...YOU WILL BE SEEN SOON ...
Needs to go to the dealer for reprogram Don’t fool around with Porsche , COMPUTER CHIPS ARE VERY SENSITIVE . NOT A WANNABE MECHANIC JOB , GO TO THE DEALER
@@franco240sx Yeah not sure why but sometimes I don't see questions that are asked until weeks or months later because there are so many comments all the time and questions. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Should be as simple as just hooking up a scanner and clearing the codes. Autozone sells them for a good price around $140 and there like having a friend who actually helps hahahaha
Probably a coincidental sensor issue, get diagnostic tool and read the errors, probably an abs sensor failure on one or more wheel(s), replace the bad sensor to clear. PSM will not work if the car thinks the abs is faulty because the car thinks one (or more) brake(s) isn’t working so the PSM could make things worse, it fails to safe. Just clearing errors doesn’t fix them. It’s not just a Porsche thing, same for all cars.
