This is extremely helpful. I've been labeling my products all wrong. Thank you for bringing this to my attention! Please keep providing informative, insightful videos like this!
I can say that I have been following these rules. I have only been a soap maker for a little over a year! I just love your advice and how clearly you stated all the information. I did get a book on proper labeling and that is an invaluable tool in soap making or any kind of product that must be labeled. We all must follow the rules. I agree completely to label all your ingredients even though it is not required, I too would want to know what is in a product that I am going to use. I always label with Lye or Sodium Hydroxide as well as it is part of the ingredients. Well Done Job on this video darling! MAMA B Homemade Soaps and More.
This is such a straight forward walk through and to the point information. Thanks always Queen 👑. This needs more views. I will indeed share. So simple but relevant everything you said. Keep up the great work.
Thank you! THANK YOU!!! I'm looking into making my own soap and you made labeling it quick(10 min is quick), easy and painless. I was going to be doing it all kinds of ways wrong. Kept me on the straight path and honest. Keep up the great work. 👍
I might have missed it…. But in labeling the ingredients, do we have to actually have to label each dried botanical ingredients???? And if so do we have to disclose percentages??? Or can we label it “Dried Botanicals”??? Thank you for sharing… And thank you in advance… Blessed Be…
Thank you for your video. it was so informative. I recently have been doing some studies, how to get into soap making. and this was great information. Thank you very much. Much blessings and prosperity with your business. 🙏
Liked nope loved it. All of your videos are super amazing. Favorite RU-vidr by far. Side note do you ever go to craft shows, flea markets, or anything things like that and set up? Or is yours online based only? I'm debating after I have my baby next month getting things prepped and maybe fall hit a few festivals or something. I'm nervous about Etsy and not having sales.
Aw thanks! And yes, before the pandemic I did a lot of pop up shops and sip and shops. I actually took part in my first pop up shop on the first day I opened my Etsy Shop and used the "Sell with Square" option through Etsy to get my first sales.
I'm glad it turned out so good. I have about 5 soaps but trying to get a few more. I did some really awesome tie-dye ones scented with green apple I think is gonna do real good.
Thanks for such great information! I am running a home soap business as well, and would like to know if I have to add my home address on the labels? I really don't want my home address exposed. Any advice would be appreciated :) Thanks in advance!
@ReginaJanae I paid for a virtual address, it’s like a P.O. Box but you are given an actual physical address, that way it looks a lot more professional and yet if for some reason you get a returned product you will still receive it (you just have to go pick it up). There’s a lot of virtual address companies, simply find one close to you if you plan on being able to go pick up mail for returned orders etc. I hope this helps ☺️
I have a question that is slightly off topic, yet it’s related to the ingredients and the fact that it’s handmade, do you carry any sort of liability insurance in case someone has a reaction or something and they want to sue you? I have thought about this and was wondering if or how many soap makers may carry insurance? And thank you for this video it was very informative.
Wow thankyou! This was so helpful and informative and straight to the point. I just happen to come across this video and you gave me important information, that I didn't even know that I should be aware of. Gratitude
Hello. Im trying to do an LLC. I have to have a business address. I am trying to see what would be the best option: a virtual address, UPS, Post Office Box although I heard that you cannot use the PO box for the LLC application, but I guess some people are using the post office's street address. I dont know. I was going to go with the virtual address, but can I ship off products at the post office using a virtual address? Thanks.
Thank u for ur insightful video!!!!! 🤗🤗🤗🥰🥰😍🥰😇😇Honestly Charmease I HATE PRINTING tho I love how hey look, they r soooooo time consuming !!!!!!! Im 66 & have more imagination now then ever bfore😉😉😉😉😘🥰🤣
I have a question about weighing your products.. soap is pretty easy.. but I may be overthinking this.. but with facial oils and mists..do we weigh bottle and product?? Or weigh bottle then tare it, and just get the weight of the liquid.. hope that makes sense.. 😬. Any advice is most appreciated.. ❤️
If you're weighing your oils and mists, you'll want just the weight of the oil/mist, so yes, put the bottle on the scale, tare it, and just weigh the liquid. If this is for putting your net contents, then you'll just need the fluid oz or mL not the weight.
hi sorry im alwasy a little bit confused by this but should your soap be "Just soap" or "cosmetic"? I get the different criteria, but what are the pros/cons of choosing one or the other?
