I've learned the hard way to call some city departments and at least look at some approved permits and job packets. My kinda city approves single page hand drawn home proposals without stamps. Gotta love the south, still free to build

That SOAD hold music was down right amazing!!!!! This needs to be hold music!!!!! And here in Phoenix, sewage fees for the year is based on water meter usage in the month of March. So in March, if you use more water, your sewer fee for the year will be higher. Even though it's only like $6 a month for sewer fee, but yeah. Point is, make sure you have no water leaks and use as little as possible. This is std practice. So look at what your city does for sewer fee calculation. To make sure you have no leaks, turn off all faucets and water items. And go to your meter. If the small dial is moving at all, you have some kind of leak. There is a big and small dial. Big one is for the major gallons or hundreds of gallons. And the small one will move if you have even a DRIP of water somewhere. Also that was not the "town septic" that was a vacuum truck. They were using water digging to dig a hole. It's done by a pressure washer to cut the ground and turn to mud and the truxk sucks it up. Makes a perfect clean hole and just the right size to fix a pipe or something. Instead of a back hoe and digging up 30sqft of yard, they can do a small 12"x12" square. And then after a truck comes by and dumps dirt to fill in

I noticed you removing the wood that attached to the romex. And you may already know this, but Romex needs to be attached to running boards by code. It’s to prevent people from hanging clothes off it etc

It's honestly insane to me how corrupt local governments can be. I live in Florida and it's basically the perfect example of "Expansion without thought or remorse" Houses being built on lots that the city used to say were "Un-buildable" being torn down quicker than a flash. No improvements or pre-planning for infrastructure, just wait until dozens of people die in senseless car accidents, and then get a group of city workers to stand around and look busy, like proper government workers. Money first, ask questions later. And on top of that don't provide access to city sewer. Rant over but it's ridiculous that we all pay the price for government stupidity

Ever try grinding down and finishing concrete? Could be a thing to do in that basement with the walls and floor. Do you like silicosis?

Been really enjoying all your videos lately and the work you've done. BUT can you please work on balancing the audio throughout the video? Like your Voice Over sections are very loud and then your talking during recordings is varying degrees of being much quieter. For example the shift before and after 2:37 in the video. Once again, enjoy the videos but hate having to constantly turn the volume up and down.

I just finished reno'ing our basement after a flood a year back. I now have a generator hooked to the house propane, junctioned to my panel, a siphon powered backup on a secondary line, a battery powered backup, main sump an audible water alarm in the pit and a water sensor outside the pit hooked to my alarm system. NEVER going through that again!!
